I am afraid you cannot ask your congressman to help you with EAD due to the financial hardship. Financial hardship (financial loss) is a pending job offer. In response to expedite your EAD the congressman's office and USCIS will ask you to fax the proof of it. So, if you don't have a pending job offer, you cannot request to expedite the EAD. Sorry.. looks like the only option for you is to wait...

All it says on the status is that they received it, and that they WILL start working on it again. Is that what you mean?

the last update of my case status - June 11, 2014... It doesn't even say anything about sending the RFE... All info I have - through congressman inquiries only.. So, you, guys, are really lucky, having all updates about your case! :)

How do you know they began working on it again?

They haven't sent me any email, I just checked my case status online. We sent our response August 24 and few days later they changed my status from "Request for Evidence sent" to "Response to USCIS RFE received".. It says that they received my response and they will begin working on my case again. Also they will send me a mail or some kind of notification either if they make a decision or if they need something else from us.

Check your case status on USCIS website!

We also got a RFE for initial evidence, and it took us almost 2 months to reply... however my EAD/AP was approved 1 week after they received the response :) So I don't believe it restarts the process.. Hope you get yours approved soon :)

I wish everyone good luck... I hate to be the downer in here but I filed for my EAD back in May and it had been 120 days! No RFE. No EAD. So it really is up to the office that holds it. I just hope everyone gets answers soon

EAD is already out of normal processing time.. It is time to submit an inquiry. Wish you good luck and do hope you will hear some good news soon.

Check your case status on USCIS website!

In some cases the USCIS site is useless and they don't update anything - it depends, have no clue on WHAT. My case status still says that they received my application. June, 2014. Almost 15 months ago. Since that time - nothing has changed on web site. "My USCIS" case history doesn't look any better - almost empty. And as I've said before - only congressman inquiries keep us updated and we know what's gong on.
