It has been two weeks since we got the noa2! W have been calling for two days non stop , finnaly before 5 minutes from closing and after an hour on hold someone answered and they said we should wait for 42 days for just getting the case number!!! Is that normal? Should i wait?

Has NVC received your case yet? It generally takes 2-3 weeks for them to receive your case, then another couple weeks until they assign a case number.

Checklist: 2015/08/05 - for DS-260 was having website difficulties and didn't realise they would review our case in 11 days.

Submitted DS-260: 2015/08/07

Supervisor Review: 2015/09/14 - 38 days after submitted DS-260 and still waiting

Checklist/Email from Supervisor?: 2015/09/18 - for missing police certificate, even though we were suppose to submit directly to the Australian consulate. Emailed them as requested stating that info and called stating that info was told to wait another 30 days for them to respond?!?!?!?! :ranting: At least now I'm in direct email communication with a someone.

HI WEJ i'm in the same situation i'am foreign studiant in tunisia and i lives in tunisia my fiancee receiv my noa 2 since 29 august but since i'm waiting my NVC number like you i expect that they will give me very soon give me any news if you have something please thanks

- It will take between 5-20 days from USCIS mail to be delivered to the NVC ( depending on the service center)

- it will take between 14-30 days from receipt of mail , for NVC to assign a case number

- then it may take another 4 days before you can "Assign an agent"

Ours took 9 days from NOA2 before it was even sent to NVC. 3 days later NVC receive it. Then 9 more days before they issue case number and IIN.

oh really! And how did you know when the nvc recived it? U called?

Ours took 9 days from NOA2 before it was even sent to NVC. 3 days later NVC receive it. Then 9 more days before they issue case number and IIN.

Not sure if that was to me but here is my 2 cents.

Yes I called after status changed to case being sent to NVC, every other day. And yes, there are some helpful folks that answer the phone at NVC not all but some. So yes I learned when it was received, when it was scanned, and got the case number a week after it was scanned. And yes a lot of those phone calls I got the "call back in 30 days" and if we waited everytime they said call back we would still be waiting on our DS-261 instead of waiting for CC. So better to be proactive, read the guides, ask the operators questions while you got them on the phone, and pray who ever touches your case is having a good day.
