Affidavit- Bonafide Marriage- question

Im having family write an affidavit regarding my relationship with my wife as part of the 'proof of bonafide marriage'.

Question is, does it need to be notarized?

its better than nothing.. I have no shared financial resources with her as of yet, no property, no rental, not much at all. Im gonna get a rental agreement for when she moves there with both of our names, but Im not really sure what else I can do for the evidence...

either way, when i get an affidavit should it be notarized?

OP, you are not required to have affidavits, joint property, joint leases, etc etc. when filing a petition. USCIS and the Embassy or Consulate will not expect a couple living apart in separate countries to have joint finances or joint ownership of assets. As already pointed out, affidavits carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of a file. What you should be focusing on instead is evidence of time spent together in-person. That kind of evidence is your strongest evidence. If you still wish to include affidavits, they should come from people who have interacted with you both as a couple on some level and they do not need to be notarized.

Definitely provide photos of time spent together and boarding passes/tickets visiting each other

ok, boarding passes and photos! makes sense. I didn't see that information in the guide, it seemed to imply that it needed to be financial.

so do i need to send all of that with my application? or is that more for the interview? or both…

Every case is different. For the I-130 we submitted only wedding & reception photos (2 yrs past), POD on bank account and TOD on vehicle and her name on my health/dental insurance. And all her docs including passport were in her married name.
