What is IV package and AOS package?

I received a welcome letter from NVC, which had an invoice for AOS (paid online, and DS-261 completed) and a document coversheet.

So, the items listed in document coversheets, those that apply to us, are these what collectively make up the "AOS packet" and "IV packet"? If so, can someone help me put this together? it's not clear enough from the letter what I need to send in.

Going through the list, I figured out these are the items that are applicable to us.

financial documents-

AOS ................ i'm guessing this is the AOS form

tax transcript ....... i, petetioner is the only sponsor so I only need 1 year (2014), correct?

tax return

W2

proof of relationship........... photos, emails, texts, phone call records etc?

proof of US status.........????? what is this?

the above items are these what would become the AOS packet?

birth certificate.................... beneficiary only? or us both?

marriage certificate.............

petitioner documents......................... NO CLUE! what is this?

photocopy of valid passport.............. beneficiary only?

photographs................... what photographs? passport size? how many?

WHY AREN'T THERE CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT TO DO EXACTLY IN THE WELCOME LETTER?

Thanks. I was just reading the guide. I was just wondering, since I just paid the AOS fee and completed DS-261... is there anything I can do to expedite the process. A shortcut, perhaps by being proactive. I mean must I wait a few weeks for the IV invoice to show up before sending in the IV and AOS packages? Or can I send in the package and wait for the IV bill to post and then pay as soon as it posts?

The welcome letter should have the document checklist enclosed, you need to include this in your aos/iv package

after paying the 2 fees and the payment says received, you are directed to fill out the 2 forms online / much easier and faster

proof of US status would be a passport or birth certificate showing citizenship

they need both birth certificates

as for photos, they want to see photos of relationship/ meeting/ marriage

passport? send in both as they did not state

passport photos - wanted bothe in my case

the documents needed are listed in USCIS site / your spouse will need criminal investigation report now / here instead of day of interview

after paying the 2 fees and the payment says received, you are directed to fill out the 2 forms online / much easier and faster

the NVC welcome letter will have the document check list cover sheet. It will have box to mark by each documents. Also each country is diffrent with the type of documents they require

You will also need a bar code cover sheet

the nvc welcome letter should have that to. If not you can print one from where you paid the AOS fees once it shows paid.

yes you can and should send in both packets before the Iv fee and DS-260 immigration form is fill Send them to the address on the bar code cover sheet that you use

there are 2 processes at Nvc

One is reviewing of documents the other is paying of fees and filling out forms

Also your Iv fees will not show up untill your DS-261 choice of agent form has been review. You can call and have them do that on the phone

you can not pay both fees at first and then fill the 2 forms out. The Iv fee will not show up till the Ds-261 choice of agent form is fill out and review. After it is review. Then the IV fee will show. after that is paid the Ds-260 immigration form will show Edited September 5, 2015 by j&ana

For your documents

You will need last three years of tax transcripts as one of the question on the I-864 ask you for the income on tax returns for last three year. Some countries only require the latest tax return to be sent in I will recommend sending in all three.

when sending in tax info if you send in tax transcripts you do not need copies of w-2 If you send in copies of tax returns then you will need copies of w-2 and anything else that was sent in with the tax return to the IRS

IV Packet is the beneficiary documents.

Needed are

Copy beneficary birth certificate

copy of court record if any

copy of marriage certificate

if married before copy of divorce record

Copy of beneficiary military record

copy of valid passport biographic data page

Two passport photos of beneficiary american size 2'x2'

Police certificates from any country live

Petioner documents only apply if you are doing a IR5 or F4 visa then you will need copy of petitioner birth certificate

while other proof of relationship is not require some countries are consider high risk then other and it highly recommended to sent in more proof of relationship pictures, chat and text logs and anything else you think will help your case

only send copies to the NVC you will need original copy for interview

If you filed jointly then w2 are required with transcript.
