I wouldn't risk that with a stingy CBP officer on a bad day.

I don't know if anyone of you got my point yet. i am not talking how many Years or Months the visa good for. i am talking about "Now visa in Hand" but they don't want to travel to USA right now. they want to stay in KUWAIT for 6 months before they travel to USA. here's the question again. this visa good for how many months before to expire outside of the states not in the states.

i am thinking its up to 6 months. and then if they don't enter USA within this period of time. then the visa will expire and they are required to reapply again.

all depends on the dates printed in the VISA FOIL, stamped into the passport,

as

those dates govern ENTRANCE dates into the USA.

Not duration of stay, but ONLY the ENTRANCE dates.

lets say theres a duration in the visa on 365 days, one year. as long as the following formula is true, it doesn't matter about waiting 6 months...

0 > = 365 - (entry date - issue date)

The visa is good for 5 years my friend got visa and he travel to states after a years but its good for 5 years tourist visa u can stay 6 month on visa and out from USA and come back for another 6 months this is how its gonna work thanks

Hi Sand,

I'd like to pop into this thread and share some thoughts with you.

I live in Trinidad and in the process of getting an i-130 petition approved for my kids and me by my USC husband. Prior to our marriage, I applied through my country's embassy consulate for a B1/B2 visitors' visa so that we could have the opportunity to visit each other and not have my husband alone travel when he had free time. :)

The length of time given on the visa is solely dependent on your country's specification for granting these types of visas and their respective expiration dates (1yr, 5yr or 10yr). For example, I was 4yrs old when I obtained my 1st visa to visit the USA and it was only valid for 1 year. Last year, I applied for visas for my kids and me and we each got 10-year visitors' visas.

When I make my trips to visit my husband in Florida, my passport is stamped with a 6-month validity for my stay in the US. Any overstaying will raise red flags with the US Government so I strongly advise against it. In cases of emergency that may require overstaying of any family members, it is highly recommended that you get in touch with the Kuwaiti embassy located in the US and alert them on such.

Otherwise, your family is free to decide on when they choose to travel to visit you; even if they decide to take 9 and a half years to use the visitors' visa.

The visitor visa stamp\foil has an Expiration Date printed on it. THE VISA EXPIRES ON THAT DAY.

DOES NOT MATTER IF or WHEN THEY TRAVEL. They can travel or not travel. THE VISA EXPIRES ONLY ON DAY OF EXPIRATION PRINTED.

If the visa is on hand as stated above. Can you please read the visa? It has a validity period on it. It will state the date of issuance and valid until. Then M for multiple entries or S for single entry only.

It doesn't matter when they leave the country as long as it is within the validity date. For example, my Visa was issued Oct. 2013, I left for US Dec 2014. My visa is valid for 10 years, Multiple entry.

All of this information are in the VISA itself.

Yeah lengthy time timeline but does not equate to the line of your question. Your timeline will not help me, you are in year 2010 it's 2015 now, you are from Iran I am from the Philippines and different Visa category. Obvious reasons eh?

WE just answered you too as you obviously didn't look at the Visa of your family. That is everyone was saying here.
