Applying for K1 soon after becoming a citizen

So me and my fiance have been waiting for me to become a citizen to apply for our K1 visa. Now that I have become a citizen just recently, how long should I wait before we file or K1?

We meet all other requirements. Also if I can apply right after becoming a citizen, should I wait for my passport to be delivered or is that not necessary for the filing?

If I have left anything missing, please feel free to ask any questions and many thanks.

You can provide a copy of your naturalization certificate as proof of citizenship instead of waiting for the US passport.

You can file as soon as you become a US citizen. You provide proof by sending a copy of your naturalization certificate. No need to also include copy of a US passport. You only need one document to prove it.

Wow, so you're also applying for a K1?

I will, as I said in October. We are planning to marry in July hopefully (or before winter). I hope nothing goes wrong with application, so October + 8 months (max time frame with everything alright) + another month for her to prepare to teleport here :)

I cleaned My Timeline. Hope nobody minds

Just don't make any committed plans. My wife and I went K1, at the time they were approving K1's in less than 2 months out of CSC. We had planned on spending the summer together and getting married, then BAM, CSC went sideways. K1 took 12 months to get approved, so all our "plans" shifted by an entire year. Don't get to excited till that puppy has landed at the embassy.

IMO don't get excited until you have your visa in hand. You still have six months from your medical date to plan out your wedding, but you don't want to make plans and then something happen to where your visa gets pushed back or end up needing ONE form and it taking two-three months for the consulate to finally send your passport like what has happened to a few Canadians lately.

Yes, depending on which embassy you are at, that waiting time can be longest. We've been at the embassy for three and a half months. Our case seems to be making good time, as waiting as long as eight weeks for an interview letter seems to be more common at Kabul. Then it's a month from the interview letter, then at least a month in AP.....

Yeah, wedding plans and visa process are as effective as digging holes in water...
