I will be very happy to blaze a trail for all March NOA1 stuck in the Black Hole. Yes you will escape and soon.

Linh and I are so happy. Now when I put her on the plane Friday back to Vietnam (since her B1/B2/1-94 expires on Saturday), its all business moving forward.

I am now waiting until I am notified that my file is transferred to the Department of State. At that point I will need to call the National Visa Center to get a case number that we can use on future work.

K-1 Journey

10/22/2015 K1 Visa in hand. Son's K2 visa only valid for 6 months (W-T-F-?) Thought good for 1 year. Inquire at consulate and told visa good only as long as the medical which is 6 months K2 VISAS NOT GOOD FOR 1 YEAR AS ADVERTISED ON DOS WEBSITE!
10/29/2015 POE Chicago; Easiest pass through for Linh in her 4 previous entries.
11/2/2015: Not tuned in enough to Social Security not to pick "the first day of the month" to try to get signed up. Read VJ advice, it's spot on, we had a processor who knew K1. We were in the SAVE database in 3 days so it was easy after a 2 hour wait.

I am looking over the other boards and this is what I am seeing

NOA2 to Sending to NVC is about 7-10 days

Transit time to NVC is about 3-5 days

NVC internal processing about a week

Transit to Consulate/Embassy varies but is about a week

I plan on calling NVC to get a case number in about day 14. While I think that is early, I need to exercise my freedom from the Black Hole

One data point that seems consistent at about 4-5 weeks is the NOA2 to receipt of Packet 3

Good Luck to all

While I didn't get an approval, I did receive an email today saying they've sent an RFE. I'm just so happy to have heard anything! I think many more March filers are going to start hearing things soon. Fingers crossed!

We got our NOA2 hard copy yesterday. Since we never received the hard copy of the NOA1 I was worried but thank god, we got this one.

We're going to wait another week then start calling NVC and try to get a case number.
