Request for more proof??

We have been put on hold to provide more proof of our relationship and that we've met in the past two years, which is ridiculous, because we submitted with the application, pictures of our relationship including those at our baby shower, our son's birth certificate (hes only 1), a signed notarized letter of our intent to marry. We live in border cities. (Detroit & Windsor) So there isn't much proof you can provide regarding crossing. What am I missing?!?!?

Welcome to the US immigration process, the most illogical process in the world.... Don't try and make sense of it, just give them what they ask for. It's easier that way. Try and send more pictures of you together. Do you maybe have some proof of a trip you took together or a receipt when you put gas in your car in her city and vice versa?

That should be good enough. For some reason they don't count pictures as primary evidence, why I have no idea. They essentially want you to show something that shows you've been in the same town as him. Weirdly enough people could easily be in the same town and never meet up, but they feel that it's proof.

There's two things that you have to prove- that you've met within the past two years AND that you have an on-going relationship.

Everything you've sent proves that you've met, and somewhat that you have an on-going relationship...I would give more proof that you are still in constant contact/visits/phone calls.

The I-129F petition does not require proof of ongoing relationship.

They are asking for more proof that they met in person within the last 2 years, since they do not have the typical passport stamps and boarding passes.

Nowhere in the I-129F instructions does it ask for you to prove you have a valid ongoing relationship. The CO will determine that at the time of the K-1 visa interview.

The OP did not post exactly what the RFE stated, and I have seen plenty of people confuse proof of meeting for proof of relationship.

I have seen RFEs for this plenty too. They usually ask for how they met/start of relationship and how and when they met in person within the 2 years prior to filing. They are wanting more proof of meeting in person.

If their RFE really wants extra proof of their relationship, and not just for meeting in person, then that is odd for the adjudicator to ask for things that are not even required for approving the I-129F petition. If they did ask for such a thing, then I can only assume they are trying to gather as much proof as possible since they live on the border and do not have much evidence to prove meeting. I am also 99.9% certain that if they supply more proof of meeting and no extra proof of relationship being valid, that they would get the approval.

So sorry lol, I try to respond as gender- neutral as possible but sometimes I forget.

I'm a female with a masculine name and I get mail and phone calls addressed to "Mr" all the time. You'd think I'd be more aware to be neutral! Good luck on your journey!
