Interview today - interesting result

Hello everyone

Needless To say, officer was nice and apologized as I was in waiting room for over two hours

Everything was a breeze , asked to see any current joint documents for my wife and I - ( three year Rule was my basis

Then said - we intend to approve you , pick your desired location for the ceremony from the bottom three - however, I cannot approve you now as we have multiple files for u -

I used to have a different alien number from an old case and apparently the officer at the embassy made the mistake of giving me a new one

He said I don't foresee any issues but all files must consolidated before we make an official decision

Not sure what that means

Any thoughts ?

They will review everything and give you an answer when the work with all your files is complete, nothing more nothing less.

It's clear that the reason you did not get approve today as you knew that they have to gather all your files at one location, so no worries, I'm sure you'll get approve and you'll hear from them very soon in shaa Allah

it seemed to be clear to me, reading what you wrote, concerning your interview and the stuff about multiple files.

they cannot grant you an appointment to be sworn in as a us citizen because the IO not review the multiple files that exist on you. A-File, T-File, you have more than one. Why he not do it prior? Beats me, really ! But they do catch stuff the day before or the day of the interview that you just had. I do wish there was pre-appointment file-review process at that local office. Maybe they are just so swamped, aye?

Hello everyone

I did not want to create a new thread so I am just updating the original one

it has been about three weeks since my interview.

The officer said I can call the customer service number and ask for an update. But when I do, they just reiterate what its already on the site and is old

An interview has been scheduled for you, we will mail you an interview notice

do i need to escalated to a higher tier? or just wait few more weeks and get an info pass

i just feel silly calling the 1800 number so they can read out for me what i already see on the check status online

Call back, and insist on escalation to a real immigration officer.

I tried and was told - no escalation before a minimum of 90 days has passed

and that i should take an Info Pass and go talk to the local office

like its that simple to just take time off work ,drive an hour plus to sit in a lobby and be told , call the CS number again

Keep calling and requesting tier 2, some will put you through.

Policy waiting time is 120 days, even you talk to a higher ranked agent, answer is to wait for it, still in normal processing time.

so why would the office tell me to call the CS number ? why would anyone bother calling it for that matter? they read what's already online in case status anyway

perhaps, info pass is really the way to go in most cases

sometimes, it takes a different type o convo with a CSR to get transferred to an ISO.

You aren't seeking status from a CSR or an ISO, instead say:

I think there was a procedural error during the last appointment at the local office; I must speak to an ISO, a Tier 2 officer, to rectify the problem. Please transfer me to an ISO, now.

I realize it is one of their regular responses. When you call, they will just tell you to wait. Good luck, it will come in no time.
