Never had them. Do girls schools ban boys, suppose so.

A war on girls/boys

You are against teaching children how to handle a gun in a safe manner. WOW

I'm with you there. Teaching gun safety is not training a killer.

trap shooting?

pfft - it's called skeet shooting here in Texas...

actually there is both - the ranges are different.

skeet resembles dove hunting and trap resembles quail hunting.

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

I am so glad you are finally responding to me again. Now you can answer the question I have asked you on so many occasions that you continue to ignore.

If you live in an area with no minorities, why do you need to take a gun with you to Wal-Mart and to the shower with you? Are the bears and moose sneaking into your shower while you are trying to clean yourself?

I'm sure this will be ignored too.

They had their own schools.

There are some parents out there that don't want their kids handling firearms. That shouldn't be considered a problem. I have sons and neither one of them are driven by the compulsion to shoot a gun. How to drive? Sure. How to talk to young ladies and treat them with respect? Always. How to get a job? Guaranteed. But shooting a gun? Not even in the realm of their minds.

There's nothing wrong with learning how to hunt and shoot at a young age, if that's what you're into. But Janelle has made it clear she's not. That's her opinion. And she's entitled to it.

You keep posting on the popularity of guns but dead center of this article it states gun sales have flatlined. Oops!

I had plenty of kids coming to my high school with shotguns and rifles in back window racks of their cars and trucks during school hours. But dude this is not the 80's and while teaching gun safety is a good thing, I think that there are valid concerns about kids (really anyone but especially kids) and guns today.

I don't think I shot a shotgun until I was 16 or so.

Growing up, it started with pellet guns and then .22lr. I think it was probably Cub / Boy Scouts actually where the .22lr was introduced.

My school had a shooting range, still remember the kick from the .303.

No shotguns however.

I am a big fan of the SMLE.

Did you shoot a Webley?
