Does anybody know how often Houston Office conduct Naturalization Ceremony? Do they conduct Judicial Ceremonies or Administrative Ceremonies? I know USCIS post some information about this, but I want to know the reality? The reason why I ask it because I want to change my name and I want to know if it will delay my Oath Ceremony.

Usually, Houston conducts one Judicial ceremony per month.

Under special circumstances, they will occasionally (rarely) conduct an Administrative ceremony.

The Judicial ceremonies are held on the 3rd or 4th Wednesday of the month (on rare occasions on another Wednesday).

The ceremonies are held at the M. O. Campbell Educational Center in north Houston (near the USCIS office and IAH).

For special occasions (eg. Presidents Day) Houston may conduct a smaller special ceremony at a different venue (these are usually Judicial ceremonies).

Some years, Houston does not hold July ceremonies.

Because of the number of Judicial ceremonies in Houston, a name change should have no impact on your application.

Well, received my application back along with the I-797C-Rejection Notice. They rejected because apparently I did not send enough supporting evidence for my Fee Waiver. I sent a copy of my Medicaid card along with the letter that comes attached to it. I thought that would be enough evidence but it seems that is not. The USCIS is requiring a letter from the local, state, or county agency which has to include the benefits I am receiving, the validity period for my benefits, and the agency issuing the benefits.

Not a big deal I'd say, just a step back. ;)

I filed my application from Houston, TX. USCIS recommend you to send your application by certified mail. However, I sent my application by regular mail First-Class with Tracking number. Don't worry, either way USPS will deliver your package.

By the way, Houston Filed Office is reallyyyy slow now :)

08-20-2016 Oath Ceremony letter received (now 14 yo) (date 08-27-2016)

08-27-2016 OATH TAKEN IN CEREMONY. DAUGHTER GOT CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP AND END OF THE JOURNEY :joy:
