Hello,

I just got married with an USC and we want to apply for a green card for me. I came as a J1 and change my status in B2. Right when I was planning to go back to Romania he proposed me.

My question it is: I want to send all the forms and prove of marriage and relationship in one package from the start. It's that alright? I saw people here that they send separately , or I didn't understand very well.

Thank you and waiting for your opinion.

Everything goes in one big envelope, but you need 2 separate checks, and you should group the packages together, for example the I-485 and relevant evidence.

Make sure to keep exact duplicates of everything you send to USCIS, and if possible, keep them in the same bundles/orders.

Also ensure that the check is written clearly and precisely for the 2 separate amounts.

You can look in my timeline below to see what paperwork I sent in initially

Good luck!

It's okay, you can send all the forms (I-130, G-325a for petitioner, I-485, I-131, I-765, I-693, G-325a, G-1145, et. al.) at once.

You also have the option of paying the processing fee by money order --- $420 for I-130 and ($985 + $85) for I-485. You can't get a money order that is more than $1000. Make sure the names are well written on the money orders. Signature required on all orders as well

I doubt that will be an issue; I would suggest that if you have the opportunity, take pictures of the apartment that is being prepared for you during the preparation time. Of course this might not be possible and I would not lose sleep over it.

Just keep a journal throughout this part of your life, so you can refer back to it - it's something I didn't do per-se, but my wife and I are avid facebook users, so that did serve as a journal of sorts.

Thank you for your fast answer. We got married really fast but we love each other and don't want me to have to go back to Romania. The married life we could show more at the interview if they would question our relationship.

They may well question you more on your relationship - We've not had our interview yet, so I can't tell you my experience.

My last arrival was on a B2 visa, and we had no intention of marrying during the visit, but one thing lead to another, and we simply tied the knot last December.

Prepare your relationship evidence.

Where & when did you meet? Online? What website?

Do you have logs of yahoo/messenger/skype chats?

Photos throughout your relationship.

Wedding photos

Photos of you with his family, photos of him with your family.

I'm not saying you need all of this - there are many reasons why, for example, you may not have met his family - What I am saying is prepare everything you can; Don't leave it to the last moment - you have plenty of time, and as time progresses something else may pop into your mind.

I'm sure at the end of the day the interviewers are trained to look for obvious fraudulent relationships, and you, like me, are truly in love - and I am pretty sure that will shine through.

Good luck!

Is it a rental? If yes, did you signed the lease already? You could send a copy of the lease showing that you are both on the lease or if not just take it to the interview. Also, for the interview, you might want to also take joint stuff, like joint bank accounts, medical insurance, car insurance etc.

Hello ,

On Friday we gonna pay the deposit because we want be sure that we gonna get it. But we gonna move at the end of June actually together.

At the interview we can get more proof of living together but right now we want to apply before my visa expires so would not make it difficult.

We met by mistake online, we have a really funny story and I was reading today our first conversation on Facebook and it's really funny. I ave messages and pictures together. Not with me and his family yet because we didn't think we gonna do this. I am here alone so he has pictures with my roommates and my closest friends that are kinda my family here.

All the bank accounts and insurance we gonna start to do them next week.

What name should I write in the forms for the application? My Family name or the one of my husband? I want next week to go and change my last name in his last name.

When you prepare your package, only send originals of documents when its required, otherwise submit copies. In ALL forms you write your last name (the one you will want to use in your green card and related IDs). If you want to keep using your maiden last name then go ahead, if you want to use your married name then use that in your forms. If you have already a SSN under your maiden name keep in mind you will have to update that to your married name afterwards.

I have one more question that bothers me. My husband had his insurance payed by his dad but after we got married he don't have it anymore. From his job will have full benefits/insurance in 4 months from now.

Is that gonna be a problem if we don't have a joint insurance when I send the forms?

We could show more proofs of living together when we go at the interview?
