I'm sorry if this information is posted elsewhere...I've looked but haven't found anything...

What is the price tag for this application process?

I know with medical exams and travel expenses differing, is there an average that someone is spending on this whole process? Just getting information together to try and start up this process soon.

i-130 fee....$ 420

AOS fee.... $120

IV fee.........$ 165 or 325 ?? maybe someone at that stage can clearify that for both of us.

and then you have the cost of medical which apparently ranges from ~$50 to $150

the cost of hotel near the embassy and shuttle/ misc fees $150-200

and the cost of travel which can be as much as $1500 or more.

I was trying to teach 'em to fish. Using google would have been just as fast as posting and asking here, and would have resulted in the question being answered right away. The IV fee is $325, and then there is an additional fee for visa processing (manufacturing the physical green card) of $165 that must be paid before you cross over to live in the States.

Additionally, I'm not at the medical stage yet, but I was under the impression that the medical was closer to the $300 - $400 price range - at least in Canada. You are also responsible for paying for any shots you do not have, etc.

There are only a handful of certified physicians in Canada who can do the medical. Some VJers have booked their medical in Montreal and stayed here between then and their interview, which means depending on where you live you could be looking at several thousand extra dollars for lodging/travel. It all depends on where you're from and the options available to you.
