Quick question, my wife traveled to the US on a K-1. She bought a ticket to go visit family. We filed for the advanced parole but due to some complications on the USCIS side we had to go and get fingerprints twice. We ended up losing valuable time and now it looks like we might be at risk of not having her Advanced Parole in hand when she goes home. I am going to go there as well a month after she leaves. Q. Can I bring the paper to her? Or is she going to need the document in hand when she travels outside of the US? Where would she need it? My impression is that she will only need it upon entering the US so it seems possible to me that I can bring the document to her. Please let me know what you think. Thank you!

She just needs it issued before she leaves.

Thank you, we got that part, I guess my question is - can she leave without it, and then I will get it to her, since I am going to the same place a month later. Is she going to need on the way out? Because from what I am gathering she is only going to need it to get back in. The problem is that we already have a ticket. Thank you

She needs it to be issued BEFORE leaving the USA. It's proof she was able to leave the USA when she did. It does get her back in but if she leaves before it's issued they can decide she abandoned her AOS, even if she has it when she comes back.

You can take it with you, it is the date on it vs her travel date that matters.

Thank you for your reply, so what you are saying is that she can leave the US in June, I can get the parole in mid June, bring it to her and travel back with her in July?

As long as is it dated in June before she leaves.

Only if the issued date is before the date she left.

She cannot leave before it is issued unless she wants to abandon her AOS.

Issued does not = in your hands.
