oh yeah also an update.. my case is now "ready" and received by our consulate in australia!!! left NVC july 21, "ready" as of August 3 WOOHOO!

anyone else from australia know what to do now?? our CEAC says: "Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html"

to me that statement sounds contradictory... it says IF you have already scheduled your appointment. . . . then says "otherwise wait until you have been notified of your interview appt."..so do i make one myself or not? lol any ideas?? thanks!!

I'm at the same place as you. Now that our cases say ready does that mean it is at the consulate overseas? I'm wondering the same thing about the interview also as I found it contradictory..

Here's the checklist I created for my USC fiance to send to me prior to my interview:

Proof of Dissolution of Previous Marriage (if any)

Affidavit of Support with Original Signature (Form I-134)

Latest Income Tax Return (Form 1040)

Latest Withholding Tax Statement (W2)

Certification of Employment

3 months worth of pay stubs/slips

As advised by some senior members, It will be a good idea to have these on the day of your interview:

129-F Paperwork and Evidences (Duplicate of the packet sent by USC to USCIS)

Updated Letter of Intent to Marry

Good luck!

I haven't gone to that process yet, though I could have done it this week. Had a furlough of one week, will start with that step next week. I believe there were several members who only presented the printed screen shot of the CEAC ready status, and it was accepted by SLEC. You know, rather than wait for what they call the letter-that-never-arrives.

hey everyone!!!

So I called NVC today and they said that my paperwork is in transit the American Embassy in Yerevan, Armenia. From what I know the Embassy is the one to issue an interview date when they receive the case. But when I check here for my case status it now says this......." IN TRANSIT"....then it says..." Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center".

My question is ...does that mean we already have a date for our interview or a date will be given to us once the embassy receives out paperwork???

PLEASE HELP!

My fiancé just got an email from the U.S. Embassy in Australia about our interview date and it is set October 27. Happy to have an interview but disappointed because a lot of US/Aussie interview dates have been within a month of their visa being received by the consulate and ours is so much longer :( our visa was received by the consulate August 3. any idea if you can bump it up sooner?

Is anyone else having problems with DS 160 photo submission? For the last two days we get an error message after the photo is uploaded. It says something like "error processing photo please try again later" We have tried with different browsers and computers and still get the same error. The website won't let us bypass the photo part and just submit the application. Anyone have this problem too?

Progress!

Yes!

I had the problem too. I took a really bad picture. Compressed it. Then uploaded it. Then it told me the picture didn't fit the criteria, and moved me forward to the end. Then it just said that I'd have to present the correct size images when I go for my interview. Crop the picture you're trying to use. Or compress it. It should work then.

You've been quiet nowadays.

Unfortunately not. The date you get is the date you gotta keep. Unless they tell you otherwise. You can postpone the date. But not make it sooner. Just be patient. It will happen at the best time for the right reason. My interview is also yet to be attended in September. 29th might I add. So just hang in there.
