So my fiancee completed her DS-160 and Readiness Forms. Medical is done. So if I am correct we just wait for Packet 4. I know they mail it but do they also e-mail you or can you call them? Do you have to bring the physical copy of packet 4 with you too the Interview? Thanks everyone for the help through out all this! Its a blessing that its almost done!

Yes you just wait. You'll get the letter in the mail with instructions and your interview date. They do not email you. They do not give status updates via email or phone until significant time has passed and you have not received it. And yes you are suppose to take the letter with you so that you can show it to them that you have an interview scheduled.

Thank you for reply! I could have sworn that we could call the NVC center and get the interview date that way. Oh well guess we will have to wait for the paper. hopefully it doesnt take long to receive...

Oh I believe that is for other ones like cr1 not k1. Since those are assigned by embassy not nvc the only thing the nvc does for k1 is assign the case number and mail to embassy.

NVC has access to that information once the embassy has scheduled it, but it could be two weeks before the embassy slots you in. They will mail the letter as soon as that happens. Sometimes the NVC has told people their date and sometimes they won't and are just annoyed with you for asking because you will be notified by letter.

Considering your results probably didn't arrive at the embassy until yesterday (5/1/15) at the earliest, start your two week count from then.

I was going through the interview checklist (again!) and while I'd always been quite certain that if you are divorced, you only need the court certified divorce decree, I see under "Marriage Certificates" the embassy states:

"Marriage Certificates: If you are married, you must present an original marriage certificate, or a certified copy, bearing the appropriate seal or stamp of the issuing authority. A certificate is required for all marriages, including those that have been terminated."

Was I originally correct that the divorce decree serves as both proof of marriage and of termination thereof, or have I misunderstood this? I recall reading this before and thinking it was badly worded and rather ambiguous, yet made sense at the time. It looks like they may have re-worded it, unless this is posted elsewhere on the site and differently phrased.

Thanks. I remember reading the list before and thinking it was potentially ambiguous, being badly worded, yet obvious that only proof of divorce was required. Yet reading it this evening, I wasn't so sure. I would never be able to get a copy of the certificate in time for my interview at this late stage.

Not to answer for her lol but I believe she said she was going to book it once it said issued for a certain time out. I'm inclined to do the same just because I want him to fly like the day after lol! Surely none of us are impatient lol
