I have filed i130 for my spouse. He is on F1 status currently. Does he need to file i765 with i485 even though he is filing i765 for his OPT?

My other question is does he need to need to file i765 with i485 for work authorization or can he work just after i485 is approved?

What happens if he files i765 twice, i.e. one with i485 (under ©(9) category) and one with his OPT(under ©(3)(b) category)?

He can file for an EAD (C-9) based on his AoS and it will be unrestricted, as opposed to the EAD based on his OPT which I believe requires him to work in a field related to his field of study.

It's up to him whether he wants both.
