Awesome news. Congrats

Thank you!

BTW, I saw that USCIS released their "progress reports" for the September 2015 month. As of then, they were 'working' on February 23, 2015 petitions. So about 50 days ago they have barely did anything. You would think that if they were THAT close to being finished with February 2015 petitions, they would have finished our TSC March 2015 cousins!

I have no idea who came up with this "two month behind-paper reporting" the USCIS uses. How is 8+ months accepted as "normal case processing times" when CSC can crank out NOA2's in a week or two?

Hello!

I don't understand what you two are trying to do; either you are confused on the wrong process or the forms are written wrong. At first, I thought you might have had an RFE, but your timeline says NOA2.

The foreign beneficiary takes the Form I-134, along with supporting documents (paystubs, tax returns/transcripts) with them when they have the interview at the USEM (or send it to the USEM if they ask for it to be mailed to them ahead of the interview).

Did I understand your question?

Did I understand your question?

Well we recieved the NOA2 and then about three weeks later my fiancee got an e-mail from the USEM with a checklist. The checklist said that I needed to bring: " ( ) EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: Evidence, which will show that you and your children, if any, are not to become public charges in the United States. If you have no assets, you may find a financial sponsor in the U.S. who completes form I-134, Affidavit of Support on your behalf. The sponsor should also provide a copy of the most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (1040) and proof of current U.S. income or assets. Form I-134 can be obtained from Citizenship and Immigration Services’ webpage"

So I sent a message to the embassy that said: "Hello, I am wondering about the affidat of support, form I-134. Does my fiance just fill it out and then I bring it to the interview? Or does it have to be approved somewhere beforehand?" and got this answer:

Dear Miriam,

Thank you for writing to the US Visa Services Desk.

Form I-134 is not considered properly filed until accepted by US Citizenship and Immigration Service

Please read more here:

http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-134instr.pdf

So that's why I'm so confused.

Gosh, yeah, I see on page 3 the instructions says that. I know I sent a copy of the I-134 with my petition, but I sent in everything when I mailed it to USCIS. Then, I mailed my guy an updated I-134 before the interview, and the USEM kept that copy after his interview.

I don't know what that means, and if no one else on this thread knows, you may need to start a new thread. Alternatively, he can call the USCIS at 1-800-375-5283 and/or the NVC at (603) 334-0700.

Did your fiance mail a copy of the form in the petition? If not, he didn't get an RFE. It may be that he was using an old version (not the February 2014 version)? That "accepted by USCIS" statement could mean a lot of things...!

Okay I called the embassy and they told me that he has to fill it out and send it to the USCIS so he will do that today. I'm just nervous because it has taken so long to get the NOA2 (8 months). Hopefully this won't take long! I can't get an interview date before it has gotten approved.

He really needs to call USCIS before sending it off. The I-134 is not a stand-alone document and can easily get received, and tossed to the side without an accompanying petition (worst case) or sent back to him (best case). Either way will delay the process! He needs to follow specific steps they give him. He may need to speak with a tier two person, I'm guessing. Hopefully, he might be able to even schedule an InfoPass to get it 'received'??

Let us know!

I would really post this outside this thread or in a country specific thread. We never sent the I-134 to USCIS. Tim took the form and supporting documents to his interview. This could be something different for your specific USEM.

He, however, was told that I just needed to bring the signed form so that's what I'm going to do. I got my interview date which is january 7th, so exciting! Thanks for your help!
