The lawyer my husband got to work with only sent our marriage certificates as evidence although we gave her our skype call logs, pictures etc. I am now wondering if this will cause a delay in our case (she told him that we did not need those evidence until I get to the embassy). Has there been anyone in a similar situation that eventually got approved? Ohh and we have already received our first NOA.

our attorney did the same thing. he wanted to keep everything simple. Guess what?? we got RFE. then we had to send wedding pictures, call records, affidavits from relatives . and finally we were approved.

We only sent in a couple of photos and were approved. I think it depends on the country you are from what they want for evidence. I would just be ready with a package in case you get an RFE, but depending on who adjudicates your case, you may be fine. Good luck with your journey! :)

I was at Nebraska also, and they seem to be going at a consistent 6 months for NOA2. If your case is simple and straight forward you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Your profile says K3, are you trying for that? They are rarely processed and are all but obsolete. The CR1 takes about a year (average 10 to 16 months, again depending on the country and the embassy). There is lots of help here on VJ if you get stuck, or just need someone to listen to you rant. Best of luck!

@Nick

Lawyers are advising clients not to pursue the K-3 route as it does nothing for you. Both are taking around the same time to be processed. But these ridiculous waiting time make people's lives unsure. Not everyone has the luxury and resources of traveling back and forth. I was reading a publication from the USCIS website where they're saying if they're to process cases any faster they'll need to increase fees. I know that people will sacrifice and fork out a few extra bucks if they know they'll receive some action on their cases faster

If God takes us to it, He'll bring us through it. He'll never take us where His grace cannot reach and keep us

me personally don't see the point of the K3 anymore.. you will be approved in the same time as a CR1 and you cant even benefit from it.. once your spouse comes to America on a K3 you will have to file for AOS, more money and no green card until AOS is finished and no work for a bit? whats the joy in that!

CR1 no AOS needed and gets green card me personally would run towards the CR1..

CR1 is now the spousal visa, the evidences will be needed

at the embassy interview, after NVC a interview date is set

& a list of things to take in

there are a few on here that actually got approved for K3.. and just recently think a month or two ago , so k3 is still pursued and granted ..though most cases its closed out but in some cases it actually gets to the interview and they arrive on k3 .

Dont do k3! I dont want to sound bossy, I submitted for k3 after i130 because I wanted it to be faster, and instead it made it alot slower, I just got my NOA2 after more than 7 months of waiting, just stick with the cr1 and it will be better.
