AoS delay in completing my case??

I received a letter from USCIS today about how my case is a potential interview waiver case (yay)

But at the same time, due to "workload factors not related to your case" USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case approximately 6 months from the date of this letter.

6 months??

Does this mean I won't get my green card AND my combo EAD/AP cards in the near future??

I mean I don't mind about not having a green card now, but I certainly need my combo card NOW. I need to apply for a job ASAP. :(

Anyone in here received the same delay?? Is now the time of the year where they received a bunch of workload or something (like the lottery or something)??

K1 Visa:


11-07-2012: I-129F sent

05-31-2013: Packet 3 received

10-23-2013: Packet 3 sent

11-19-2013: Interview

04-07-2014: POE Boston

05-07-2014: Got married after 12 years of LDR! :dancing:



AOS:


10-10-2014: Filed (together with combo EAD/AP)

10-27-2014: NOA received

12-10-2014: Request for Initial Evidence (RFI) received

11-12-2014: Biometrics Appt

02-03-2015: RFI received by USCIS

02-25-2015: Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case letter received

(completely forgot): GC received. Resident since 07/04/2015.

If you still haven't gotten your EAD you can file a service request after 75 days. You should file one as you've been waiting way longer than that.

September 19, 2014- Case shipped to Consulate from NVC


October 1, 2014 - Case status "Ready"

October 15, 2014 - Packet 4 received- Appointment letter


November 4, 2014 - Interview- APPROVED!!!


November 13, 2014 - Visa in hand


November 25, 2014- POE in Washington, DC


December 18, 2014- Marriage at Courthouse

January 28, 2015- Biometrics appointment


March 4, 2015- EAD card in production


March 16, 2015- EAD card in hand


May 2015- Notice of Interview Waiver and case processing delay


September 10, 2015- RFE- lost packet given at POE! Have to redo the medical :/


October 28, 2015- Approval of AOS and card in production- online case status updated


November 2, 2015- Green card in hand!!

Hmm...initially I was thinking the message might only apply to the GC,

but looking at your timeline, its been nearly 4 1/2 months since you've sent in your AOS/EAD/AP packet.

I sent mine in on Dec 9th, and we received the EAD/AP card just last week

and many in December AOS filer thread have also received it.

Did you get RFE(s)? Otherwise, it's very strange that your case is delayed...

Yes we received and RFE so I wasn't expecting anything anytime soon

but didn't expect it would take about 6 months!

I've read that several people received the same letter as well, and it only applies to GC...does that mean I should be getting my combo card without having to wait for my GC??

If that's the case then I'm all good!

I received an RFE (well request for initial evidence in my case) and according to the USCIS's website, it was received on Feb 3rd 2015.

So I'm guessing I'll have to wait for another 75days from that date to inquire for my EAD yeah?

I mean just as long as the 6-month delay letter doesn't apply to my EAD I'm fine!
