LONG wait for NOA2, but after that things went pretty fast. Embassy takes about a week to respond to emails but interview and experience with the consulate were very positive! |

Embassy Review : |
My fiance went to his interview this morning (November 4th). He got to the Yaounde consulate at about 6:30am and was 5th in line. A few DV applicants ahead of him had problems with their identification so he was bumped up to 3rd in line. He went through security and got into the inside part where a nice Cameroonian woman asked for his payment receipt and instruction packet with birth certificate and proof of relationship evidence. She also asked him for his phone number and MY phone number in the US!! He was told to wait for the interview next. He waited about an hour for his interview and seemed to have been the first interview they called back. He met a very nice American female consulate officer who interviewed him. She was very relaxed and it was just like having a conversation. She asked him to swear to the truthfulness of his answers then asked him the following questions:
-Did your fiancee prepare this evidence packet
-How did you meet your fiancee
-When did you start dating your fiancee
-When did you start to get serious in your relationship with your fiance
-When did you propose
-I see you have a daughter, is she coming with you now
-When was the last time you saw your fiancee
She then handed him a yellow slip and said congrats you are approved and you can pick up your visa on November 13th after 4pm. He had a very pleasant experience. We're thrilled!!

Embassy Review : |
Dulles Airport- Met a female customs officer she wasn't very nice. She went through every single piece of paper- very thorough. She asked many questions of my fiance: about me, where we met, when we last saw each other etc. She looked at every picture.
It was like having the visa interview all over again. No congrats on getting married, no welcome to the USA.. just a stern "get married within 90 days." Some people really let their small amount of power go to their head. It wasn't hard because he knew all the answers to the questions, but really after a 20+ hour flight he didn't need the extra hassle.
Very poor!! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
