I called them yesterday the lady said that is normal to take up to 7 working days, after i explain to her about my daughter she told me not to worry that it should appear by Wednesday, she also told me that they receive my package on august 28, do you know how long does it take to get a CC after they receive all the documentation? I'm hoping to have my family here before my job relocation on oct 31. :(:(

Hi,

I was really lucky and got my CC only 10 days after sending my documents - but now I'm waiting for my daughter's. They told me our cases will be merged before they send it for interview.

The NVC is working a lot faster now - most people get their CCs within 20 days lately.

Have you checked on dwheels spreadsheet how long it takes for the embassy in Colombia from CC to interview? In Brazil it takes around 60 days.

Just call later or call the 2nd day. First time when we called the lady told us that the case is locked and that she can't do anything to our case. She also told us to call the 2nd day, which we did. When the rep picked up the phone and I told him my case number he went directly for the DS-261 and reviewed right then and there without me even telling him why I was calling, which was pretty sweet.

Congrats BRlove & maniput!!!! So happy for you!

As an update from our side: we sent the AOS and IV packages yesterday with DHL Express. The packages should be there on Tuesday (we are sending them from Romania). I'm praying that everything is fine and we don't get a checklist.

Thank you!! I hope you will get your scan date soon then a CC without checklist :)

Hi BHSMama,

People here are right, it's a bit about the choice of words... but it's mostly about the rep you take - some are not in a good mood and could just not bother. So my advice would be for you to call many times a day. Always be kind and polite.

If for any reason someone say repeatedly that they can't do it because your case is locked or someone is working on it, come ask me and kamw and we tell you how to change that.

Thanks ill definitely take your/you'll advise and try a different approach on Tuesday gods willing!

Yes just keep calling.. Some of them are grumpy and will give you the standard timeframe. The ones that are honest and say call next week or something along those lines are usually better to speak with. but just be honest and say you want to review your Ds 261. Or ask them why you can't pay your iv fee when they Tell you the Ds 261 has to be reviewed first ask them if they can do it for you. Just be nice and remain friendly..

If they say it's locked , it will take some more calls but we'll tell you what to say..

I have a strange situation (I think).

So, our I-130 got approved in late July, and now we are in the middle of NVC proceedings.

Just last week, our I-129F (K-3) application also got approved at USCIS, and is now in transit to NVC.

My understanding was that USCIS would have administratively closed this I-129F instead of processing and sending to NVC.

Do I need to take any action on this?

Would the I-129F getting processed at NVC mess up/delay the I-130 timelines for us?

Thanks!

USCIS will just forward to NVC. NVC will most likely close i129f when they see your case number for i130 in the system. I have not called to confirm that they closed my i129f, not really worried about it.

If you guys have any questions specifically for me,

I will be glad to help via private message.

Hi!

At their website, NVC now says all documents to be sent should be photocopies.

You are supposed to take the originals to the interview at your local embassy,
