hello all...i finally received signed 325's, notarized letter of intent, and originals of translated birth and divorce documents from my wonderful fiancee today...a very long 3 weeks...we love eachother so much and we are both lucky...ok, so, here is what i got:

1-personal check to u.s. dept. of homeland defense for $170

2-cover letter

3-i-129f form

4-declaration of meeting letter

5-notarized letters of intent from her and i

6-proof of meeting-boarding passes, flight itinerary, credit card copy of flight purchase with itinerary on it, pics of us together at the family table, independence square on new years eve with fireworks and hotel ukraine clearly in the background, on back written who is in pic, where, and date and so on, couple letters and e-mails

7-signed g-325a's from each of us with passport photos attached with printed names on back respectively in zip-lock bags

8-copy of my birth cert...nothing is on the back so i didn't make a copy of it....should i paste a sticky note explaining???...

9-a copy of me u.s.citizen birth abroad cert...born on united states air force base in ankara, turkey...so, on my 129, question 10 "how was my citizenship required?", i checked thru parents and inserted my birth cert #

11-copy of all pages of my passport, front and back cover

12-copy of her cyrillic and translated divorce and birth certs

i have two-hole punched everything, tabs at the bottom of all docs, and inserted them into an acco two-hole legal size binder...all docs are letter...i am going to place it in a manilla envelope and just use the clips to secure and overnight to texas service center and then pray for rfe's and to keep as busy as possible so the time goes by quickly.....we feel like this is a huge step for us and we are both excited and relieved to get this off....

i know this is a lot of info, and would appreciate any input...here i am and here we go...and i get to start my timeline!!!

Congrats on getting it out

As a newbie to the site and about to send ours off in a week-it seems like you have everything under control--just double check that everything has been signed (especially the check) and did you make a copy of the package? Some on here say they didn't and had no issues others say they did and feel better for having done it.

My turn very very soon!

Best of luck and you should check out the February Filers thread--I've noticed these monthly threads become a "Friendly" competition as well as a great source of support and comfort during the waiting process!

the I-129f instructions are pretty explicit about sending copies of BOTH front and back of birth certificate. may be best to quickly make a photocopy of the back and attach it and leave the sticky note off, why draw attention to this. just my opinion. good luck!

not to be picky, hopefully you also have some sort of certification by translator for the divorce and birth certs for your fiancee? just want to make sure this goes thru the system with no obvious snags. this week i will be mailing a bunch of forms/letters to my sweetheart for her to sign, with instructions on what she also needs to get copies of and translations of, etc., so all these little nit-picky requirements are also going thru my head right now. again, good luck!!!!

Looks good. 3 area's to mention though. (1) you acctually don't need her birth certificate to file the I-129. She will need the original for the interview later though. (2) COPY COPY COPY. Make 3 copies of everything. The first you send in. The second you send to her before her interview. A few embassys have asked for something from the I-129 package but it varies. And the last copy is in case anything gets lost in the mail. (3) Copy the pictures you are sending. Remember you do not get these back.

I got the NOA2 already. And it took about 3 months so here's hoping for you.

Check is to the Department of Homeland Security (There is no such thing as the Dept of Homeland "Defense" - maybe it was just a typo in your original post - but just in case . . . . ).

And don't stress about the birth certificate - the "back" issue if you don't have a back - I didn't think i did either. But I included copies of all pages of my passport - which you listed too - which counts as an alternative to the birth certificate, so it sounds like you covered several bases.
