My husband's request has been approved. We received the approval Friday. We asked a friend to submit an affidavit of support. She didn't have all the forms they require. She sent what she had to NVC. When we found out she didn't have the paperwork to help us we asked someone else. He submitted all the forms and they did approve us. The thing is NVC asked my husband to take the forms that the woman didn't have to his appointment in Lagos. She still doesn't have the required paperwork. We don't need her since we have the other man. How do we take her off without having to wait another 60 days after reopening our case. I have PTSD and I'm holding on by a thread. I need my husband. We have been working on this for 18 years so I just don't think I can bear to have to wait another 3 years because of some small thing like this. Things like this have been happening since 1997. I'm sure that there must be a way to take her off without opening our case back up. Any one know how to do this?

Yup. No need to inform NVC because your case is already routed to the embassy.

As long as the other joint sponsor's income meet the poverty guidelines and you submitted his most recent ITR and W2, you should be fine.

Also bring evidence of bonafide marriage such as pictures, letters, emails or chat logs (Skype, SMS, iMessage, Facebook, Viber, Yahoo, WhatsApp, Line or other messenger apps).

if nvc 'approved' the case,

then it seems certain to me that this 2nd sponsor was used, with the first sponsor's data and I-864 ignored.

for clarity, call into NVC on Monday, get a supervisor, ask this exact question:

What's the name of the co-sponsor that made the casefile documentarily qualified to be placed into the queue for interview appointment?

Alternatively, the beneficiary can talk with the Vice-Consul on interview day, make certain about which I-864 packet is evaluated there for the co-sponsor. Sure, it will take extra time, but if a telephone call into NVC is not clear, the only other shot he has is on interview day.

Thanks. I have been planning on calling Monday. I tried to get though Friday and got the all lines are busy all evening. Our co-sponsor was approved. I knew he would be. He sent his paper work to me and I went through it and he makes enough to sponsor several people. What it is our first sponsor didn't file her income taxes in 2013. Should we have her write a letter saying she doesn't want to be a co-sponsor?

Thanks. It has been so many years I panic. You helped so much. 3 years ago NVC sent the package to Lagos Nigeria then Lagos sent a letter with the schedule date. Now NVC sends you the date. Seems to help with the time table. I am going to call NVC tomorrow. I really thank you for caring so much.

I got a letter at 6:25 a.m. from NVC. It was a notice that we have all the required paper work into them and we are now waiting for an appointment date. So, I guess someone realized we didn't need the paper work from that woman. Thanks for everyone's help on here.
