I have been scheduled for an interview at the lagos embassy. But I am having some issues. My wife visited me in lagos for the first time in 2013 and spent 6days with me, within this time we got married. She had to hurry back to the states cuz she was expected to resume work the following day. She has not been able to visit me again bcuz her work schedule is so busy. Now I am scheduled for interview and I don't know how to answer the CO if they ask me questions like how many times has your wife visited you in lagos or when was the last time you met your wife? I am very worried if this will be a red flag at my interview. What am I expected to do? Is it really important to ask my wife to fly in for the interview? If my wife is unable to come, how do I answer this question in my interview? I need advice.

Answer truthfully. If your wife has only visited once, then state that, if asked. Never lie to a consular officer under any circumstance.

Compile as much evidence as you can to prove you have a genuine relationship in the meantime, regardless of whether your wife joins you for the interview or not.

Just keep it the way it is and answer truthfully because they have all her visit on file and access each case prior to your interview, Be prepare to answer why she visited just once and only 6 days. Make sure to have a lot of evidence to back up your case....and hope for the best... ....Good luck

Thanks Y'all for your advice, I think its best to have her fly into lagos to support me for the interview. But I guess she won't be allowed into the embassy with me. Will she? Your thoughts please.

I guess u won't be allowed to go into the interview with ur husband. You will wait outside the consulate. How will this work? Any ideas?

When your wife comes you take her passport inside with you and hand both passport over the CO will see she is outside. The interview is about you not her If by chance they want to see and ask her question they will request a guard go get her.

6 days and almost 2 years ago is not very much time. she should be there.

How many times have you visited her?

What are the positives, you have only mentioned negatives.

I too face the same situation... I think its best to be honest and earnestly explain why your spouse couldn't be with you... Also you can show evidence of your relationship and its authenticity from your phone records, emails exchanged, photos, messages, co-owned property etc

We have a joint bank account, emails, bbm chats, call records, video of the wedding, pictures together, sworn affidavits of two witnesses to the marriage. Are these enough evidence?
