Hello everyone, I am happy to see lots of case completes and visa approvals.

My wife entered in USA on January 24 through JFK, NY. POE was a breeze.

I was wondering when can she expect her Social Security Card? She did check on IV application that she will need a social security card after arriving in USA. I have heard sometimes it doesn't come in the mail.

Please advise.

IR1/CR1 Timeline:

01/24/2014: Married

02/11/2014: I130 Sent

02/19/2014: I130 NOA1

06/25/2014: I130 Approved (NOA2)

07/07/2014: NVC Received

07/16/2014: Case # and IIN Assigned

08/04/2014: Received DS 261 and AOS Invoice Email

08/04/2014: Submitted DS 261

08/06/2014: Paid AOS Fee

08/07/2014: AOS Package Sent

08/11/2014: AOS Package Scanned

08/30/2014: Received IV Bill

08/30/2014: Paid IV Bill

09/03/2014: IV Package Sent

09/03/2014: Submitted Ds-260

09/05/2014: IV Package Scanned

10/14/2014: Case Complete

12/01/2014: Medical (Completed)

I'm so depressed, whats is happenig, why is NVC closed today? Where is my interview date.,

Sorry not even NVC can control the weather. It's pretty bad up there. We do want people safe.

Hi, waiting to hear about our interview date at the Tokyo embassy since we got CC on January 29. I have two questions:

1. Can the beneficiary's spouse come along to the embassy on the interview date? (I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, but just wanted to make sure)

2. Once a CR-1 visa has been approved after the interview, can it be changed to an IR-1 if the date of entry into the US is after your second anniversary? (Some people have said that the Immigration officer at POE has the authority to do this, but I'm still not sure)

Yes if you POE after 2nd wedding anniversary you will get IR1 (10 green card) be sure to have your marriage certificate with you on had to show the CBP at the airport and remind them.

Hi, is this true for all visa categories? My PD has been current since last March but my case complete January 22nd 2015. I am f4 visa. The chances of getting an interview sooner are better because my PD became current so long ago?

Yes NVC schedules your interviews also. For you it's about your PD of course.

I have no idea because I have no idea how many are in front of you and how man your embassy allows that becomes a factor you know. Time will tell.
