UK VJers Progress Update Thread

Lol oh man another update. Apparently someone else overheard me from the reception desk say I wasn't going to risk it because of the AOS fee and wanted to get the shots all checked off now and they decided to do the same thing. The nurse is glaring at me now whoops

Sounds like the nurse is having a 'lazy' day and cannot be arsed to do her job today. :)

My husband just said to me ''so Knightsbridge is giving out visa and AOS advice on how things work even though they have signs plastered saying they do not give such advice.. nice''

My husband's TD is marked with a B (because he received the shot) not an A. Did your fiancé not receive a shot today? Unless your DTAP (perhaps they used this one) is marked with a B and that's why the TD is marked with an A..

I'm really frustrated with the whole thing at this point... So we forked over the £75 (ended up being £92) pounds for the tetanus shot he needed, because the nurse made it sound like that is all we are missing. But she didn't check his vaccine sheet as complete and said he needs a hepatitis B booster in a month and then another in 6 months? I have no idea how to play this now since 6th months is far off and the other 1 month one we weren't aware of either until after we were about to leave...

Why would he need hep B? Does he have a job that would require him to have it?! It's not a routine vaccine in UK

Just dug mine out in case it helps. Attached a pic for you to compare.

Most of my waivers are A - not age appropriate or B - insufficient time to complete.

I'm assuming that as the flu jab is complete that's why there's nothing in the waiver column.

Looking through the list on the medical info page it would depend on the age as to what's relevant for each group of shots.

I remember they were a little like this over mine too ?

On the sheet, to be truly correct

DT, DTP, DTaP.......waiver code A because those are baby versions for Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis

Td or Tdap ........needs a date within the last 10 years.

No waiver code needed because the date makes you compliant for immigration and you don't really need a waiver on the shot for AOS purposes of you have had one in the last 10 years.

Noticed that like me you've been on here a few months before you filed. You should be well ahead in your mind of what you need to do thanks to visa journey!

Just a point on your timeline.... It's showing Armenia as your consulate & showing as Texas service centre. I read that new petitions are still going to California ?

If your fiance is not that young, then the nurse you had today is just screwed up for even mentioning Hep B.

Thanks, I was in a hurry to update it yesterday so it showed my petition as sent but didn't look at those boxes so it just did whatever I guess. I have changed it now. It's now in the post office ready for pick up.

I'm having my injections at the end of this month at the GP practice and have been told there is no charge.

It looks like others have had to pay. I'm hoping out receptionist has not made a mistake about them being without charge to me. Could it be because I have a medical exemption card for prescription costs?

I got mine for free too. I don't see why you would have to pay for basic vaccinations that are required from birth. The only one I paid for was influenza and that was only £12.

If your fiance is not that young, then the nurse you had today is just screwed up for even mentioning Hep B.

He is 18 now so that makes sense that he was given it today.

He will be 19 by the time AOS rolls around. Because of this, will he need to get the booster in 1 month the nurse recommended? He will still be 18 in one month, but by the time the next booster is apparently due (6 months after the next booster in 1 month) he will be 19 and we should be well on our way into AOS, if not finished with it. So will he need to get that one month booster even if he does not need to finish off the series?

The image of the scan the other user posted makes me feel a bit better. We were given a very similar result, the only difference I can see is a "B" for the Hep B and that the MMR on our sheet seems to be checked off as all good.

So it seems like we should be okay? TD will definitely be within 10 years, and if he doesn't have to worry about the Hep B since he will be 19 at AOS things look good?
