Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 11, 2016
Embassy Review : Arrived at just before 8 for 9am appointment. Was directed into the line for 8am non-immigrant & ALL immigrant at any time.
Was through security & into the embassy at 840.
Got my ticket (I'll always remember I912) & waited 25 mins to go & produce my documents. Really nice guy who was quite happy chatting away while he was processing them.
Sat back down for about 45mins till my number pinged for the interview!!
Very nice lady, very informal chat - basically she said "so tell me about your story". She asked where she worked, where we would live. Chatted about my job in the uk but more because she was interested in what I did!
At the end she said that she hoped we'd be very happy & to enjoy it.
APPROVED.
Painless experience & if you're genuine then you should have nothing to worry about.
The experience at my medical was far worse!

If you're needing a central London hotel on a serious budget then the Belgrave House near Victoria was seriously cheap. No frills but for one night it couldn't be beaten. 4 mins walk from Victoria station, 10mins tube ride to Marble Arch (tube for the embassy).
Rating : Very Good

Embassy Review : Really easy.... asked one of the helpers where I needed to be with my white envelope. They sent me into the normal immigration queue which was quite long. After about 5 minutes another person came & took me out of the queue to the tripod area, which was where I expected to be.
Waited 10 minutes for the immigration officer to call me up, a quick explanation about the 90 day rule & I was done.
I must add that the IO was really jolly & shared a few jokes with me!
Altogether a nice welcome to the USA..... 👍
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
