Hi ,

Whats the rough amount of time between having your medical at the London embassy and getting your interview date?

Is it possible to pick the interview date or not?

Is it possible to fail a medical? (depression) and whats the process from there? (can reapply or petition the result?)

Thank You !

Standard time is six months

They assign a date, you can't choose.

As long as you have a letter from your doctor saying you're "not a threat to yourself or others" then depression/anxiety should be fine!

Since this is along the same lines as far as Medical goes there in London. Any problems being that he is a smoker you think? I mean I know that the xray is for TB etc... but just wondering if anyone knew of any problems arising from someone that's a smoker. (I'm on him all the time about quitting) lol

On average, the interview is 4-6 weeks after the medical. My fiance's medical was January 12th, he received packet 4 in the mail on January 22nd and the interview is scheduled for February 11th. So for us, from medical to interview it's just slightly under a month. :)

As for the smoking question - I haven't seen any posts about smoking being an issue. Unless he smokes pot, then that's a whole different issue.

Smoking (tobacco) is not an issue, other than he may get a little lecture that he should quit. If he admits to smoking weed, even just one time, they will do a urine test to check for drugs and it complicates things.

So one more question for you guys. When did you order your police certificate? Did you order after NOA2 or before when you anticipated it to be done? Just don't want to have to wait on anything and would like to schedule everything as quick as possible. So I wasn't sure if we should do it the date we receive NOA2 and just do standard service? Thanks for all the help.

Ahh ok I gotcha. Nah, no drugs just cigs so should be fine. I figure he will get a lecture, he does from me anyways lol But good to know it shouldn't be an issue.

I had my police certificat in october.. So way before medical appointement.

I did the standard service and got my police certificat in 10 days

If you have been approved just order it now but be careful you police certificat need to be less than 6 month at your appointement.
