Doesn't matter.

Priority dates do NOT matter in IR1/CR1 cases. There is always a visa available for the spouse or child of a US citizen.

Priority date is the date when a principal applicant first reveals his intent of immigration to the US government. For family-sponsored applicants (ie. you petition your spouse), the priority date is the date an immigration petition, filed on behalf of him or her, is received by the USCIS.

If you are a US permanent resident petitioning your spouse (for IR1/CR1 visa), you will look at F2A on the recent visa bulletin -- that means USCIS accepts your petition, but they won't move on to process your petition until your priority date becomes current so you will have to wait until it becomes current. If you are becoming a US citizen, you will notify USCIS and upgrade your status so they will move on to process it, then approve it and ship it to NVC for next steps. .

If you are a US citizen petitioning your spouse for IR1/CR1 visa), you are not on visa bulletin (no waiting list) -- that means USCIS accepts your petition and will move on to process it, then approve it and ship it to NVC for next steps.

Hope this helps.

USCIS doesn't pay too much attention to the visa bulletin, they still approve petitions in numerically limited categories before priority dates become current. When such petitions reach the NVC, it is there they will sit until the priority date is current.

If you are married to a US citizen do not worry about the visa bulletin or priority dates!
