Question for those who had their interview for the K-1 and their embassy uses the usvisa-info.com website.... does it have you listed as an immigrant or nonimmigrant? My understanding is the K-1 is a nonimmigrant visa, yet under the Applicant Summary under the section “details” for the “trip purpose” it says: Immigrant Starting the Process - Family-sponsored.

We were married but the marriage was annulled and now 9 years later we are doing the process again after being reunited. While we were married, we annulled the marriage so we did the K-1 visa again, should I be concerned about the details online or just wait?

He had to submit one more document which is being delivered via DHL tomorrow so he already had his interview and they can see the process is for the K-1. I just didn’t know if this is standard and on everyone’s K-1 visa, or perhaps it’s not important. I just don’t want anything else to delay this process!!

Technically a K1 visa is a non-immigrant visa with immigrant intent, making it a kind of fusion of the two. I can't answer your question specifically, but to me I don't think it being listed as an immigrant visa is anything to worry about. When checking status on the CEAC website, we type our case number into the immigrant section, not the non immigrant section, it seems to me this is in the same vain.

Yes very true. When we went through that site to pay the DS-160 fee for the Interview, it lists the K1 as an Immigrant Visa. The Embassy Website site for Kenya said the same thing..that K-1's are treated as immigrant visas...YET the DS-160 that you fill out says K-1 are NON-Immigrant visas. Confusing? YES..but thats this process...however not to worry...just follow what they say

The K-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa, which is why you need to file to adjust status to obtain permanent residency once you are in the US and married. However, it is not the same as other non-immigrant visas because you in fact have intent to immigrate. This is why K-1 visas are special and are processed by the immigrant visa unit of the consulates.
