Hold on! Be careful here. I may not have explained things clearly enough.

Your VAC appointment will come first, then the Interview. My point was that if you schedule your Embassy Interview first in the system, you can then schedule your VAC appointment to come before your Embassy Interview (but no more than 2 weeks before the Embassy Interview date). I hope that clarifies.

Thank You understood. I was just told when calling that I have to wait for interview appt letter of embassy before scheduling vac appt. I thought I could do both on ustravel but website shows case not found. Bummer.. but a step closer uuff

Will the letter from the embassy contain your Interview date? I'm guessing the process is different due to the expedite so the typical ustraveldocs system doesn't handle it. In any case, your status changed to READY and you know the interview letter is coming soon, so you are on your way!

please explain where you see on the CEAC website where you see ready. I just want to make sure I am checking the correct page. Is it the same page where you see the 3 NA's?

Ceac page where it indicates "check my visa status" you type case # and it will pop up at nvc, in transit or ready.

I checked it yesterday. It was at NVC but now it shows ready. Yes our interview is on february 26th but I have already created profile on ustravel docs as it was mentioned to follow instructions given on New Delhi consulate. Is that okay that I created profile before it said READY? I have already booked biometrics appointment and selected visa pickup location. Hope that doesn't delay the process.

"READY" just means what it says you are ready for your interview as far as the embassy is concerned. Meaning your petition is with them now.

It usually goes from NVC to in transit and ready. Keep an eye on it. Good luck.

I know this is a bit off topic, but I just wanted to say how much I appreciate this website and everyone who is here. There is no doubt the support I received here not only kept my process on track (I knew more than my crappy attorney), but the folks here kept my spirits up and my reduced my anxiety. Saylin's NVC thread, Soloenta's venting thread, and this great thread by dwheels76 were all life savers. This community is something quite special. I'm in the home stretch now just waiting and praying for my wife's passport to be delivered with her visa, but I'm going to hang around VJ awhile and help others if I can. I'm no expert but I'm willing to share what I have learned...especially a few things specific to the DR.
