What visa are you adjusting from?

You went to the SSA and applied for your SSN? SSN is not required for AOS. If you did not apply yet, then once you have your green card, go apply for the SSN.

Sometimes people get an interview before getting their EAD/AP card. It can either come before your interview date, or not at all. No matter because once your green card is approved, the EAD/AP is not needed.

Since you came with tourist visa you have to wait for your green card to be able to apply for SSN :)

EAD would work too but in this case seems GC will be here faster

Hi everyone!

Same here. I just got my interview date (for my Adjustment of Status) last week, and it will be on Jan 12, 2015. I was on a K1 visa

They just changed the status of both Work and Trravel permit maybe yesterday from "Case Received to Request for Evidence". I did email them a couple of days ago asking about the status.

My questions are:

1. What possible evidences do they ask for a Work Permit and Travel Permit? I thought it's like "automatic" if you apply for adjustment.

2. Would this affect in any way my AOS?

Thanks!

They are fairly 'automatic', as long as you provide what is required and fill out the forms correctly. Hard to say what your RFE is for. Could be something incorrect on the form, or some required supporting documentation you did not send. You would have to wait for the hard copy RFE letter telling you what they want.

It won't affect your AOS process. You will attend the interview as normal.
