Hello fellow Visa seekers :)

I had a quick question, i received the NOA2 about 45 days ago and no notification from NVC that they sent the petition to the Embassy.

The notice has a specific duration of 4 months. What should i do if the NOA2 expires before my Fiancé receives anything from the Embassy.

I emailed them two weeks ago with no response.

anybody put in this same situation ?

Thanks

The embassy can extend the date if they have not assigned you an interview in that time.

Just get what you need to do done, papers, police certificate, medical.

Unlikely that you will go past the expiration date but if it so happens they extend it.

Welcome to the forum.

There are a lot of reasons how an approved visa petition can expire prior to processing at the embassy/consulate. A review of forum threads would reveal that it has happened before and will likely happen again. No worries, read the DOS K1 Nonimmigrant Fiancee Visa FAQs for more information: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/types/family/fiance-k-1.html

When you get a chance, :time: It helps everyone that uses the forum, or is helped by the forum.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

You may want to be concerned if you've passed 45 days.

Start reading this thread on the page I've linked, with USMSBOW's post at No. 70. A number of us have had our cases misdirected to the wrong department and the steps you may need to follow are very well explained here.

Have you tried calling the NVC for your case #? 1-603-334-0700 call very early in the morning by 7am.

After you get your case # you can then track your case with the embassy at this website

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

select immigrant visa and then enter your case #.

If you're talking about emailing the NVC, I heard that they don't respond to emails you have to call them. When emailing the embassy, it is best to put your case # in the subject line.

Best of Luck!

I called them today, and when i gave them my USCIS # the employee stated that she couldn't find any record ####### o.O

She told me to scan the NOA2 and email it to nvcresearch@state.gov so that they can assign a number to my case.

Looks like its gonna take longer than i anticipated :(

Ah well at least you know now. Glad you called and didn't wait any longer! I hope it won't take too long for them to assign a case #. Email that scanned NOA2 asap!
