Sending Package to PI

Just to air my side, I sent a gift package to PI and paid exuberant fees

before it arrives, and next thing the receiver has to pay billing & taxes

This will never happen again sending to that DHL company,

all hookers DHL-PI kaya walang asenso

It's more the Philippines Customs people and their ridiculous import taxes on just about anything. Been there, done that.

Don't blame it on DHL. They did what you asked them to, deliver your package. It's not DHL's responsibility nor do they make the rules for collecting taxes, that is the Philippine Government's responsibility. Your beef is with the Phil Government not DHL.

Thank you VJ peps for your comments, I understand that taxes ...blahhh blahh ...don't blame to DHL but the prob is they did not

issue official receipt, I don't have a problem of paying taxes but the "O.R." but anyway just want my family to be happy.

My PI fiancee told me that her sister had trouble receiving a FedEx package from England because the delivery person wanted her to pay a "storage fee" of several thousand pesos. I'm thinking that was a scam on the part of the delivery person.

I agree with a previous post. I used Johnny Air too to avoid crazy fees from the government and they let us pay for everything on our end so my Mom in the Philippines doesn't have to pay for anything after receiving the items we sent.

Hi everybody good day to all, from my experience with the same problem i just send money to them to their bank account so they can buy anything they want cuz 2x my packages never made it to them cuz you have crooks working at customs and philpost, you can only track your shipment till it reachs phil then keep your fingers crossed , plus this time of year its open season on your cards getting lost in somebody's pocket.

Well there's your problem. Never ever ever send anything of importance, value, or consequence to the Philippines using regular mail (US Postal Service/PhilPost).

Yeah it costs alot to send it through DHL that's why I sent stuff that they needed such as important documents or a few other things. But hey the price you pay does not compare to the piece of mind you get knowing that it will get there on time and without it being pilfered through.

If you can not afford to ship DHL then don't do it. My wife had to pay like 500 pesos on the recieving end when they delivered it. If your family is in the province then it's ok, but if my family was in Metro Manila I would use Johnny Air.
