Hello,

I’ve read about couples paying for their medical care/health insurance in the U.S.

I was wondering if I will be able to be under my soon-to-be husband’s health insurance after we get married (I enter the U.S. on a K1visa)

Will I automatically be under my husband’s health insurance that he has through his job?

Thanks for your helps !

So it's not gonna be easy.

It's going to be really hard;

we're gonna have to work at this everyday,

but I want to do that because I want you.

I want all of you, forever, everyday.

You and me.. everyday.

Not automatically, but he can submit the paperwork at his work to have you added to his insurance policy. Usually there is a 30-day period after a life-changing event (such as marriage) where individuals can be added. If you miss this window then you will need to wait until the next open enrollment period, which is usually December or January, but varies with insurance policies.

Thank you! I was worried I would have to pay an extra health care :)

You won't, he probably will - as said above - it depends. Also, if he has deductible on his plan, it will likely increase with another person added.

All depends on the plan he has.
