Hi,

Today i checked: "ceac.state.gov" and our case status went to IN TRANSIT. Yay.

However in the bottom there is a message that says: "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center"

Is this true? I though in Ukraine we have to schedule our own interview.

Please share your experience with this if you can. Thank you!

So i called NVC and the lady on the phone said: "No for this case we do not set up an Interview"

So it must be an automated message that is being put on these messages. It Maybe depends on the consulate though.

It is confusing. We got the same message yesterday and our case is in transit too. Since when NVC schedules K1 visa interview? If NVC doesn't , why would they put such message on the website?

Our case is on the way to Riga, Latvia. On the embassy website, it says we have to pay visa fee and make our own visa appointment...I suppose we should follow embassy's instructions?

Absolutely, do follow the embassy instructions. I think NVC just puts out a general message for all cases not caring about it confusing many people.

In Kiev, Ukraine we have to schedule our own interview too. Which i knew by what the instructions say and from people who went thru it from this site and others that my fiance is signed up to but still that message threw me off.

Some countries for example like Mexico, beneficiaries scheduled the interview through NVC. That's as far as my knowledge since I had a friend that his beneficiary from Mexico dealt with the NVC regarding scheduling the interview.

I got the same message after my approved petition "transit" at NVC. Beneficiaries from Indonesia don't scheduled their own interview. The embassy does. My point is, most of people will get the same message and it depends which country the beneficiary comes from whether the NVC scheduled the interview (like beneficiary from Mexico), scheduled their own interview (the Philippines), or the embassy scheduled the interview (Indonesia).
