Hi everyone! Im out to lunch with my coworker and she actually went on the cruise where I met my SO. She interested in how everyone met their fiancés, and I am too. Share your stories please :)

We met during my second summer working at summer camp in NY. I asked if someone could buy me a chocolate chip during their break. And Josh said he would, but then he forgot. I hassled him jokingly after that, and he bought me a cookie the next day or so. And we started talks lots and like Pheebs said... the rest is history!

My second summer working at a summer camp in Michigan. A girl who I had worked with the previous year told me she was bringing her cousin to work at camp this season (Dan). We went kayaking, I fell out and couldn't get back in so had to swim back to shore (in a life jacket I wasn't allowed to remove) with him kayaking next to me, dying of laughter. The rest, as they say, is history ;)

Our stories are just far too similar!

Met at summer camp... we met in my second summer too!!

I sent chat logs, FB posts, cards, and phone logs. Because we used to mostly use viber ... and they do NOT give out their telephone logs, we had to print screen some... We use Kakao now because it logs everything.

I also sent emails and letters from family, friends, and co-workers. Anyone that has to suffer through my constant "gushing" for over a year I asked to write a letter. LOL.

Again.... because we have red flags in a high fraud country, we really wanted to make sure we front loaded and our timeline was consistent and detailed. Even though I've been to Egypt 3 times in the past year, (even one time taking my children), we were told Egypt is STILL very very very skeptical and will scrutinize EVERYTHING.

I have to forward my fiance some original documents for his packet 3 and we'll make sure he has updated "evidence" for everything too.

I swear.. I NEVER THOUGHT in my life that I would have to "prove" my love for someone through documentation (especially PERSONAL ones). LOL. It's a bit harder than I ever imagined! lololol

I didn't do that I just did pictures and tickets etc. But I wonder if I should have done this now because Morocco is also known as a "red flag" country and they want to know EVERYTHING and they want everything. Even in interview they will ask you questions to make sure if matches up and relevant to our story and petition... I was hoping he would be here by feb-march but now Im not so sure :(

It's so bizarre isn't it! If regular couples had to go through this I doubt we'd have as many marriages- or divorces- for that matter!

I hear Ecuador is a high fraud country, so I'm wondering what are possible red flags in countries like this? Now I'm starting to get worried reading all these posts. Hopefully i covered our ground our packet was 89 pages long and it took me forever to assemble.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to worry you! I know the red flags for arabic countries, but am not sure about Ecuador. Ours are mostly age differences, how you met, speed in which you became engaged, things like that. Romet probably has insight into more.

You may want to check out that country's portal and embassy reviews to check about Ecuador specifically. Try not to worry! 89 pages definitely covered a lot of ground :)

Romet, are there any settings in kakaotalk to receive the chat log or you still have to take print screens with the log? We are using whatsapp and facebook chat and until now i always had to scroll up so much to take print screens.

Musique, it cool you've met on omegle too. And prayers and positive thoughts sent from here to you.

Kakao logs it onto a spreadsheet same as viber. And yes.. the bad thing about spreadsheets is they can be modified.. :( So we're still doing both... but at least Kakao DOES log them onto the log. Viber doesn't do any of that.

It's all a pain in the A**

Our lovely journey!!

10/08/2015: AOS packet sent to USCIS (Chicago lockbox) via USPS Priority mail (They received it 10/10/15).

10/16/2015: Text/eEmails received from USCIS with receipt number. We received 3.

10/22/2015: Received hard copies of NOA's for I-131, I-765, & I-485.

11/01/2015: Got NOA for biometrics appt (for 11/12/15).

11/03/2015: Did WALK IN biometrics appt - took 15 mins. Person taking said work permit should be in mail in less than 4 wks.

12/09/2015: Got email/text notification for INTERVIEW date.

12/28/2015: Got email/text notification EAD card has been mailed.

12/31/2015: Received EAD/AP card.

01/11/2016: INTERVIEW (in Los Angeles office).

01/11/2016: Case in in "CONTINUANCE". Awaiting approval. (Feels like AP).

06/27/2016: I-485 APPROVED - (FINALLY!!!) / 264 DAYS (8 MONTHS 20 DAYS)

07/01/2016: GREEN CARD RECEIVED

Thank you cristindc. Well we meet on social media almost a year ago, but we did not start talking and getting to know eachother until april 2014. I went to Paris and met him there and we travelled to Morocco together met his family and got engaged. So they do have red flags for internet romance and dating etc... I hope our meeting is not a problem.

Does anyone know if the NVC emails/texts us too or we only get their notification by snail mail and/or calling? I believe once we register with NVC that's how we "follow" the case going forward, but I'm a bit confused by reading different posts on VJ.

My understanding is the quickest way to get updates is by phoning them, SOME people receive a letter (but seemingly not many) and some people receive an email. Confusing, huh? :huh2:

Hi guys! Just need to vent a little. (PS. super happy for the CSC people so this is by no means raining on their parade) ughhhhhhh why why Texas? They finally updated to May 6 but really? We are so frustrated, my SO doesn't believe me about how long it'll take he's convinced it'll be faster, praying for the luck of the Irish lol we are so ready. I'd be easier if either of us had enough time off of work to visit each other but he can't until April and my 7 year old doesn't have a passport so it's not easy for me to hop on a plane. Tempted to start a @USCIS twitter campaign hahahahahaha

But, I feel better complaining to the only people that understand :)(L) (L) (L) (L)

Don't worry, we are here for you and each other :) so the processing time is april as of october 31st (which would logically make it May if the data was as of November 30), but I know many of the June and July filers are getting their Noa2s. That still means 5 months for us, so unfortunately March or April :( hopefully the holidays will distract us all!
