Im really annoyed with this waiting. Our priority date is feb 12 2014. Our case is at NVC since Aug 29, We got a checklist today saying that they need the marriage certificate, Police clearance certificate and finance documents. PCC okay but why marriage certi and finance documents again??? Dont they have the one we submitted earlier??

Does the letter specify what may be wrong with these docs? Are they originals/certified copies? If the letter doesn't say what is wrong, then you have to contact them to find out because you want to make sure you send in the right stuff so that you won't receive another checklist.

This does not constitute legal advice.

They re asking for I-864 and the original marriage certificate which we have already submitted.

Asking for PCC is okay which we soon will submit but do we need to submit the I864 and marriage certi again?

That depends, it's possible there was something wrong with the I-864. You have to contact the NVC and find out why they need a new I-864 and marriage cert.

If the letter isn't telling you why they are requesting a new one, you have to find out from them why so that you can correct the form if it had a mistake before sending it again.

The NVC is really annoying when it comes to the checklist because most of the time they don't specify what is wrong with the docs. I remember when I received a checklist, it was so generic in nature that I had no choice, but to call in and ask what they wanted from me.

This does not constitute legal advice.

It could be a false check list. Call when the phone lines open this morning.

Not all countries are the same.I got a checklist for the police certificate but the NVC was incorrect. I had the item removed because the police certificate for Costa Rica is only valid for 30 days. The embassy gave us specific instructions on how to obtain the police certificate when we got the interview letter. Call NVC and make sure

I agree. In my country for example, you need one police cert for NVC, and an updated one on the day of the interview. So you have to find out if the embassy/consulate where you will interview has their own requirements. You can go to travel.state.gov and find the website for the embassy/consulate.

Check in the NVC filers thread. I believe this checklist is their new kind of checklist since they wants AOS and IV sent together so if you already sent one and not the other I believe they just send this combo checklist. But go to the thread they discuss the latest going on at NVC.

There is a "Document Cover Sheet" that includes both packages that is to be used for sending both packages together.

My husband submitted everything in original while sending the documents to the nebraska service centre. Now when the file went to the NVC, they said these many (the ones i mentioned earlier) documents are missing. So he sent them those docs overnight. I wonder how can they be so careless to misplace our docs. They lost my marriage certificate. Thankfully my hubby sent them another one.

I am sorry about your checklist. We go one 2 weeks ago and are still gathering the documents, because my husbands court is so freaking slowly.....of course he has no records, he's 100% clean, but still they are soooo slow. Call them and find out, request to talk to a supervisor.....it could also be that they lost your transcripts I know for a fact they lost my tax returns and my AOS form.
