True enough. But it happens every single day on flights all over the world, I'd wager, if they are not full. I know on nearly every flight I have been on that wasn't full, once the door was shut, we were allowed to spread out, even to lay down while flying. A simple notation on the manifest would have been all it took to maintain order and discipline. The Captain can authorize that.

Alot of airline situations are hitting the media these days. Yesterday I read Jetblue denied a passenger passage on a flight because she tweeted the pilot was being forced to take a sobriety test (which was true).

Exactly. On the way back from Co REA this week we had an Airbus 380. Lots of empty seats. Everyone spread out all over the place.

Not out of regulation, but not too common. Unless you're applying for Government jobs that require you to be on orders(reserve components that get activated for example) you would do an interview in civilian clothes. He probably flew in uniform due to the benefits you'd get from the airline.

I noticed that as well, we used to call it wearing your airforce gloves. I didn't mention it for fear of reprisal. Also I don't think that uniform without jacket would be authorized unless he had on a name tag and ribbons underneath which I highly doubt but I'm not familiar with the Army uniform manual.

Didn't miss it at all. I've moved from coach to 1st before when a seat was available.

He probably flew in uniform due to the benefits you'd get from the airline.

What benefits? I've flown in and out of uniform and never saw a difference.

Made no difference to me, between coach and first

The one time my frequent flyer miles got me upgraded to First Class, I gave it up to go back to Coach, as they didn't upgrade the better half, or the munchkin.
