Hello, I need all your advices.

Last sep/20 my finance got rfe by email. Sep/26 he got hard copy of rfe. Then sep/30 he signed and kept in mail box. The mail man came and got it. But we did not have tracking number..Until now we did not hear any update infos from uscis...

So now do you think he should ask post office to check where was doc or we will call uscis to request other rfe.

Thanks for any advices...

It takes them a good 3 weeks to process the new papers, so not hearing from them in only 8 days does not mean a problem.

But no harm in calling them to make sure they got it. Just be ready to be on hold for a while when you do.

Thanks for your answering.

You mean that by the way my finance sent doc( regular post office) . It will take 3 weeks from Texas to Cali?

Will uscis issue new rfe for me if I said that post office made lost for my old rfe?

I think Al422 is saying that it takes them good 3weeks to process your RFE paperwork after receiving it..it usually only takes a couple of days for your mail to get to texas from cali even if its regular mail.

If its lost then you will have to resend your RFE documents to USCIS.

Ya. I misundertood him. But that was my finance bad: he did not scan or copy rfe before sending....

i don't know if USCIS will issue you another RFE notice automatically. What i would do if i were you is i would give it a few more days then ill call USCIS to ask if they received the RFE documents or not. If they haven't, then request for another RFE notice if needed (correct me if I'm wrong , I'm assuming you need the RFE notice to send the documents to USCIS) for you suspect that the documents got lost en route.

USCIS does not send RFE by email, they may send a notice but the actual RFE letter will arrive by mail.

I searched on on google and found out this. I think I should make a cover letter like this. Because I rememberred what they requested from me.

A question we often receive is: "What happens if I lose the ‘gold sheet’ that requested more information about my case? I received a Request for Evidence (RFE), but it isn’t on a yellow piece of paper, is this a mistake?"

The 'gold sheet' is an unofficial term that refers to the color of the paper that some offices use when issuing an RFE. (Not all offices use yellow paper when requesting additional information about your case.) The color of the paper is helpful to some offices to alert the officer that you are submitting a response to an RFE. If you lose your RFE notice, you are still responsible for submitting a response. If you have lost your RFE notice and you do not remember what was requested, you should contact the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 (1-800-767-1833—TDD for the hearing impaired) to have the notice resent to you. Keep in mind, however, that an extension of the time for you to respond may not be granted. If you lost your RFE notice and know what you are being asked to submit, please provide a cover letter with your response that includes your receipt number and A number.

I think you are overthinking about the RFE. Its too much soon to think that your response of the RFE its lost in the mail service or even USCIS, a week without a notice its not a big deal. I suggest you calm down and not overstress about it.

If take more than a month change the status in your case in the USCIS page, then its time to do a call to USCIS not before.

Best regards.

If you just let the mailman pick up the envelope at your house you must not have sent it Certified/Registered Return Receipt Requested. Now you have no proof that you even mailed the letter. If I were you I would make another document and take it to the Post Office and mail it properly so you will get a receipt that it was delivered. But that's just me. I would NEVER send anything to them regarding my future life without a proof of delivery. Good luck and
