The Secret

Has anyone read this or seen the DVD? Its called "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne

Just wondering.

My boss made a Special "Secret Staff meeting today" Had been in the works for a few weeks. Wouldn't tell us what this "Secret meeting" was about.

Anyways, He brought the DVD & Book in and had us all watch the DVD in our conference room on the big screen.

It was pretty interesting.

for those who don't know what its about... Its how to use the universes energy to get what you want out of life. How every thought, negative or positive affects our lives. Was really compelling!

After the show, he gave us boards to make our own visulization boards with and a copy of the book.

He said he cared about each and everyone of us and he wants us all to have everything we could ever hope for.

I thought it was really nice of him.

Did I mention I have a great boss, ( Actually a Great team!)

Anyone heard of it, used it in their daily life?

I once had a boss who bought my vitamins each month...well not just mine, but everyone in the company. He said he didn't mind it and it cut down on sick days.

Then he's always read books like you mentioned and he'd buy one for everyone in the company & then give us $1 a page to read it!

Man, I used to love those 300+ page books...

Wishful thinking will not make everything turn out ok? You don't have to work to get where you want to go, just project positive vibes? That's so simplistic.

Not saying that a sunshine personality isn't a good thing in proper context but...

Nothing against the OP's boss' motives, I am sure he's a great boss and only had good intentions but the 'Secret' is just hoey.

well this "Hooey" as you call it has impacted my bosses life in a huge way. The guy is younger then me, lives in a million dollar dream home,Drive several expensive cars, volunteers his time to all kinds of organizations, has a awesome family who are as nice as him, has everything he could ever want, is happy and willing to share it with the people he works with. And like the book says, We use electricity everyday even though we don't fully understand how its made. So why couldn't this work?!

I know for a fact that being negative only brings more negativaty. The more you focus on good things the more good things will come. And no where does it say you don't have to work. All it says is that if you believe , things will open up for you so you will get what you want. and BTW, this isn't just about wealth, its about a better life in general.

Yes actually my mother watched it at her womens group and was raving about it, so she bought it, got my dad to watch it and now even he is telling me I need to see it.

I disagree...I think there's a lot of power in positive thinking & keeping away from toxic and negative people. The insurmountable always seems less so when D and my parents give me a pep talk and say things like 'piece of cake, you can do it, etc'

We did this thing at our office about the FISH PHilosophy.... based on a team of workers at a fish market. It was neat we even had stuffed fish to throw at each other in our cubicles. I thought it was corney at first but then, why not you have to work with these people every day anyway why not make it fun?

I agree. We have all been informed by this post that positive thinking works, great. So why do I need to buy a book about it?

It sounds like aa book to make money of the insecure and vulnerable peolple of the world.

I will be successsful without the book........by writing a book about being successful with positive thinking.

Hm, this reminds me of a book a teacher of mine made us read. It came with a workbook and everything.

I wish I could remember what it was. It had kind of a cult following although the book was fictional.

Was it something about circles or spirals or ugh, I can't remember! I think it was based on achieving enlightenment and at one of the end stages, you're able to see auras and what not.

Don't you hate it when that happens? Can't remember for the life of me what it was...

Ummm Ya, Well see theirs these really cool things, called Libraries, maybe ya heard of em Ya can actualy take out books for Free !!! AMAZING HUH?!!!

I can see auras...as long as they fall between 400-750 nanometers wavelength....
