Hi, well it's good to know that some are getting their case numbers and it's not really taking 35 days. The 16 day mark put us at Friday, but I think with the Thanksgiving holiday I'll give it to Monday or Tuesday. Thanks!

Does anybody know, should we be proceeding with getting the police check and medicals? I was telling my fiance to go for the police check, but he's thinking we should wait for the letter from the embassy. I don't know if the passport office needs that letter to stamp so it will be accepted at the interview? I saw my papers online at the Delhi and Mumbai Embassy in India, but unsure if we should go by those or just wait for the package to reach the embassy and then talk to them. I think they are supposed to mail a letter to my fiance, just wondering if we can speed up the process so was wondering what others are doing who are farther along in this journey.

Thanks in advance. You folks are great and help to make the waiting more bearable. I'm hoping we can be with our loved ones by Christmas or January and start planning early spring weddings! :) :)

The police certificates are valid for six months so I'd go ahead and order them :)

Well both me and my fiance are trying to call them, but the number is always busy!

I've read on VJ that early in the morning, and later in the day, are the best times to try and get through! I don't think there is any point in us calling yet as it's only been a few days but I'm just itching to move forward haha :P Good luck!

There is a trick to it I discovered. Call, when you receive the busy signal, immediately hang up and redial again without delay....repeat this about a dozen times (sometimes a few more...speed is the key because you are trying to hop in when someone hangs up) and you will get through. You will be on hold for 20 - 40 minutes though but you got through :). Good luck.

Edit: I always called between 18.00 and 20.00 EST......

Thanks for the info, my fiance finally got through last night, they told him they received our file on Nov 24th and we got our case number too! :D So it took exactly 2 weeks for us to reach NVC B-)

Good luck to those of u who are still waiting, i'm sure it will be there very soon! :P

Good to know that the police reports are good for 6 months. I'm wondering if they need to stamped or see the letter from the beneficiary's embassy? We just don't want to do it and then find out we're missing info and have to redo

Hello everybody, good news! I called the NVC this morning and they received our case! Got our case number. Does anyone know if we can track our case online, because I keep getting an error message. I think I read somewhere that we have to wait till it leaves NVC?

Thanks

Okay, now I got in. It must have just got entered in the system. The message says to follow the instructions given by NVC. Well they told me they would send it the embassy so I guess now we wait.

Something else: I had to enter our case under "Immigrant Visa". I'm confused because I thought K1 is non-immigrant, but whatever, at least they have it. :)

I'm thrilled!
