Good Evening all:

Just an update, I called the DR Consulate this afternoon and was given our interview date for 12/15/14!!!! So excited anxious and nervous all at the same time.. Now it's time for my due diligence and organize all my documents to be well prepared.

Wishing you all the best of luck and hoping for those of you still waiting to get good news really soon!!!

I will continue to update my timeline as we are now waiting for packet #4 to arrive to my fiancé

Congrats!!!! So had u already returned the items from pkg 3 before they give u ur interview date?

I received my NOA2 9/15 and the petition was shipped 9/25. I called the NVC this morning. They don't have it and told me that I need to wait 4 weeks of it to get there. Is this normal???? I feel like it's travelling from Texas to NH by horse and buggy?

Where do you go to find out when your file was shipped to NVC? My NOA2 was 10/1 and I've been calling NVC since and each time I called, NVC said they don't have my file yet. I'm reading the post in here and alot of people with NOA2 around my date and after has received their case number from NVC. Please let me know where to go to find out the shipped date.

You need your case # from NVC before you can find out when it shipped. They say it can take 4-5 weeks for them to assign a case # although it's usually more quickly. Once you get your case #, you can log into the CEAC site to see where your application is in their process. (Mine took just over 3 weeks and yours will be three weeks on Wed so you are still in a good place. :))

It will eventually tell you it is "In Transit" and you can go onto DHL and put in that info and the country (or just wait a couple of days :)) to find out when it shipped and was received at the Embassy.

But to do any of the above, you need a case # from NVC.

Where do you go to find out when your file was shipped to NVC? My NOA2 was 10/1 and I've been calling NVC since and each time I called, NVC said they don't have my file yet. I'm reading the post in here and alot of people with NOA2 around my date and after has received their case number from NVC. Please let me know where to go to find out the shipped date.

10-18-14 Received Paper NVC notice (with fiance's first name spelled wrong)

11-9-14 Received appt letter

11-19-14 Received E-mail with interview date for 1-7-15

1-7-15 Interview - Approved but medical exam was not at consulate due to holidays
3-11-2015 Finally received visa.
8-8-15 Traveled to the US together. Arrived in Boston with no problems.

Really exciting (and nerve-wracking)!!! We are only a few days behind you so maybe I will call tomorrow. Since my Spanish is terrible - do they let you speak in English or Spanish? :rolleyes:

Yes you May call regardless which language, the young lady who answered my call was "I asume" American, no accent. We spoke in english

Ok it must be by country....for JA it states they will send the pkg 3 then 4 which is the interview ltr. Hopefully he will get it soon..our petition was rec'd ar embassy last Monday and entered into their system om Weds. Good luck to u both.

Wow! I am very happy for you! December 15th is right around the corner. Good luck gathering paperwork and keep us posted. Im praying to get a date soon since my case arrived there a day after yours. When do you think I should call?

Ok, I didn't know that there was a different method depending on country.. You should try calling, my petition was entered into their system last week Thursday...

Actually it's not a thread, go to VJ Immigration Time Lines, then click on K1 visas Time Line, set your filters, keep "all" on the first two then select your country. You will see a spread of VJ members petitioning for Visas in DR with their time lines from NOA1 to Interview date

Hope this is helpful

PS: I personally prefer calling, you get immediate answers

Where do you go to find out when your file was shipped to NVC? My NOA2 was 10/1 and I've been calling NVC since and each time I called, NVC said they don't have my file yet. I was notified by the USCIS when the file shipped, which was 10 days after NOA2. I got a text, email, and a letter in the mail. When I called the NVC, they kept telling me 25 business days but it didn't take that long at all. The case was actually received by the consulate 1 month and 1 day after NOA2. Hope that helps!
