Hey guys! We just got our NVC confirmation for our K1 application. It asks us to visit ceac.state.gov and fill out a

DS-160 form, which is apparently an Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. I didn't realize it was part of the K1 process. Is it normal? Am I missing something? Is this something new? I didn't read about this anywhere! Please help... I'm sort of freaking out.. Thank you so much

Yes, it is. There is no new thing here. Technically K-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa though the U.S. Embassy treated it as an immigrant visa when they are processing.

Not sure which consulate you will interview at. Your profile country shows Canada, but your timeline says Armenia. I will assume Canada. These are the instructions for both consulates. You need to research and follow the instructions of the consulate you will apply for the K-1 at >

The DS-160 is the new form filled online and a certification sheet is printed out and brought to the interview.

It replaces the old DS-230, 156 and 156K forms

Have you read the hong Kong info on this site?

Every embassy/consulate is different. I recommend doing a search on this site if that link doesn't work. Also don't hesitate to email the embassy for more info.

Should I call my embassy (Montreal, Canada) to tell them about my NVC confirmation? (It's been about 10 days since I received it) Or do I just wait to hear from them and for them to send me the checklist and stuff at this point. Thanks guys. I'm just not sure what should I tell them when I call.
