There are reports the suspect had just been released from prison on parole. Local media reports the suspect is Thomas Johnson III.

Now with a tiny effort, one can ascertain the that cop (Daryl Pierson) was killed by none other than Thomas Johnson. That is what post #2 has to do with post #1.

In other countries, felons don't immediately get access to guns once they get out of prison. Care to guess at why that might be?

Punished? How is trying to regulate gun ownership a punishment to those who want to be legal and abide by the rules? You are of the mindset that if you want it now, now is when you should have it and hang the consequences? Owning guns should be seen as a privilege and a responsibility not just a right that means you get your guns now because you want them. It's like dealing with kids dealing with some gun owners.
