Interview @ Baltimore – 01/24/06 – 1:30pm

Email Notice of Approval – 01/30/06

We arrived at the Baltimore DO about 12:45pm. The waiting room for immigration interviews was packed. We waited about an hour before we were called in (@15-20 minutes past our scheduled interview time).

The interview itself was pretty straightforward. The officer verified our current address, asked a few biographical questions, asked us how we met, and then went through the I-485 form and checked off each part as we answered the questions and confirmed the information that it contained.

She then asked us for any supporting documents (bills, joint statements, etc.) and removed my wife’s I-94 from her passport. We ended up looking at our photos, but only because she seemed intrigued that we had gotten married in New Zealand.

At the end she told us that she was going to recommend to her supervisor that we be approved and escorted us back to the waiting room. No immediate decision or stamped passport, but judging from past posts that seems to be the way Baltimore does it.

General Notes:

- The officer was polite and generally friendly.

- At the end of the interview I asked if she needed my wife’s EAD or AP… She did not.

- The interview took @ 30 minutes, but only because we spent time at the end chatting and looking at photos.

- The officer mentioned that she appreciated the fact that we were well organized (both in the initial filing, and that we had carefully prepared all of the documents and copies that were requested for the interview).

Hopefully we are done for a couple of years! :)

- Matt

congratulations!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

No, it wasn't. The only online update we had was the I-485 approval on the 30th (we received notice for the I-130 by mail only).

Interesting... Thanks. I'm wondering if the fact our case was "touched" yesterday is a good sign or an indication that it could stay in DC for awhile.
