Hi

I fill the DS261 on this date: 2014-07-26 calculating the time have already passed 30 business days.

Do I have to wait more time for the invoice appears? I think they're holding the cases so everyone has to pay the new fees.

What's your opinion about this? and What I should do?

Thanks in advanced.

now you have to wait 60 calendar days. No 30 business days like before. Good luck!

Most likely they are holding everything for us to have to pay the new fees. They reviewed my ds261 last friday and they told me that I should get the IV invoice any day. Nothing yet.

Like people who already had paid we still have to pay whatever we owe them at the interview!!!!

How did you filed DS-261 without paying the fees first?

I am so sorry.. I just figure out that the DS-261 is not DS-260. Like you, I have been waiting to see if they are going to charge me $260 instead of $ 230. I don't think is fair if they bill us the new amount because we paid $420 for the I-130 instead of the new lower price.

If you are invoiced the IV bill Sept 12 or later, you pay $325. If it's before Sept 12, you pay $230.

The I-130 fee goes to a completely separate place and department of the government. $420 is the same price it has been for some time and there is no "new lower" price for the I-130.

Also please pay attention to the fee changes:

You will be only charged the fee as of the cut off date from the NVC. You will NOT pay more at interview if you paid the $230 fee.

Q: What if I already paid my fee for an appointment after September 12?

For immigrant visa fees, the fee charged to an applicant will be the fee printed on the fee bill the applicant receives from the National Visa Center. Receipts for Immigrant Visa application processing remain valid for one year.

Yes only if your interview is after dec 12th. If your interview is before you don't have to pay the difference.

I guess I must have gotten confused. I thought I read it somewhere.. Anyways, with the current processing time frame at NVC, I doubt that anybody who has not gotten their IV fee bill yet will have their interview before December 12th. Either way we are going to have to pay the diference.
