Are there still some people who are waiting to be scheduled for a green card interview?

Yes my husband and I are still waiting for the interview schedule. We sent our package in August, and a REf in November and since November no news. :-s

We are still waiting as well. USCIS received our I-485 application on September 5th. keep us posted if you guys get any movement.

Hi guys, have you called uscis? Dree 60 days after your RFE status changes to RFE response review, there ought to be some activity on your file. I know it doesn't always work but when mine went beyond the 60 days i called in. I got transfered to a tier 2 and i asked very nicely if anything could be done to speed up the process. I had school plans that needed my greencard in order for me to start. The tier 2 officer said she couldn't do anything but would make a general inquiry for me. I saw the inquiry update on my case status file and 11 days later my status changed to interview fixed for feb 4th.

Pls call. It may help.

We called USCIS in January and they told us the usual story: it all depends on the office were our case is processed, when they have time for our case they are going to schedule us for the interview, so be patience, the lady was really nice, and she told us that she can't do noting about the case. We don't really have a reason to hurry, we are just impatience about it. It's a long process and it's also pretty hard to find a job without a green card (I am trying to find something in my filed, but it's hard) , people don't really trust you when they see that you don't have a green card and the EAD it's only valid for one year so they are a little skeptical in hiring :-s. KMR&MHAH I'll let you know if something is going to change. NikeS thanks for the advice if nothing change till the end of the month maybe will call again.

I think most of us are in the same boat... people who post on here are normally those who are seeing activity. Remember that K1 is a slower route. For some reason, if you come over here on the VWP or tourist visa and get married (illegal), it's much faster to get a green card. But from what two lawyers have told us, it complicates getting citizenship later.

I have had no problems with the EAD and jobs. Remember that you can renew it! It's a very common occurrence looking at other threads on VJ. And as we have seen on this thread, if you are actually married and it's bonafide then it's highly unlikely you are going to get rejected. So technically your GC is pending, and you can renew you EAD every year. I can't see any employer having a problem with this. I really don't see a problem. When I first got my EAD, I just quickly got a PT job in a coffee shop to stop me from going insane, and then landed a environmental engineering job a few weeks later.

For my British friends, if you do get rejected, the UK spouse visa equivalent takes 24 hrs to process as long as you earn over £18000. So considering that the UK is booming at the moment, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world...

The best thing to do is to stop worrying, stop waiting, enjoy being married and get on with your lives. Life's too short.

Did you mean that it's hard to get citizenship for those who adjusted status from vwp and non-k1 or cr1? Why is that? And is that applicable to student visa AOS'ers? I'm a k1 aos applicant and I'm expecting a long wait for my green card. I intend to apply for citizenship later when the time comes too.

Well I understand, but I also assume that you being from UK can speak, write and understand English perfectly. So for me it's a little bit harder to express my self, don't understand me wrong, I can speak and write fairly, and I understand 95% of the conversation(except the slang and some expression).

When it come to expressing myself on a interview it a little bit harder, and also I'm looking for jobs in accounting. In Romania I have studied accounting based on IFRS principals here they use GAAP principals, witch is kind of different. And having EAD only for 1 year it's nor helping either :P

I was told that it's only for people who get married on a tourist visa and adjust status while on a tourist visa. I'm no lawyer, but I guess that it's because doing it this route is technically illegal. CR1 is a spouse visa, so if you're already married and apply for one, I assume that you wouldn't have problems....

On another note, I got an interview waiver today... so I guess I just got to wait for my green card to come months down the line...

But those factors aren't related to the EAD. If you explicitly tell your potential employer at the interview that you can renew it indefinitely until your green card comes/is processed, then I'm sure they'll understand. It's also free to renew, so no worries there....
