Oh wow! We'll have to keep each other informed then. The coincidences are hilarious. Where in Canada are you? I'm in Toronto and there was a bit of culture shock when I went to visit him for the first time in a rural town in SC.

I'm in Toronto and my husband is from rural SC!

We got our first email a few days back and are waiting for the hard copy 797.

I figured there have to be a few of us! I'm so thankful for this website, it always reminds me that we are so far from being alone in this process when I meet people like you both.

Our situation is a bit reversed with location. We're in New Brunswick right now, in a city 1/10th the size of Charlotte, NC, where we will be moving back to. I totally get the culture shock though, which one might think would be lessened when the countries are Canada and the US. Not so, at least for us. It can be hard sometimes though, going from a big city to a small one or vice versa.

As always, I hope the good luck continues for everyone!

I told my husband that and his response was, "No way! No one is ever from New Brunswick!" Hahaha

I've driven through Bowman several times and rural is definitely the right way to describe it. A tiny, tiny place! Fredericton is huge in comparison. We were just there for a Bahamas concert.

Hello you guys,

I´m kinda late but I am another September filer (yay!) :)
We send our I-130 on September 15th from New Jersey and got the NOA1 via email on Sept. 22nd. The letter arrived on Sept. 30th saying that our case was transfered to the Texas Service Center.
Since then nothing changed so we are waiting...
Is there anyone else still waiting for the NOA2 or someone who has their case at the TSC as well?
Is there anything I can prepare so the next steps at the NVC are gonna be fast forwarded?

Congratulations to all the approved cases so far :) I´m excited to see how our journeys continue

08/30/2014 Got married <3

09/15/2014 Sent our I-130 to the Chicago Lockbox

09/18/2014 Chicago received our petition

09/22/2014 Email: Acceptance Confirmation

09/30/2014 Received I-797C, Transferred to Texas Service Center

01/15/2015 Email: RFE (which we never got  )

03/26/2015 Email: RFE (again, which, luckily, we got after 4 days)
03/30/2015 RFE in Mail, sent an answer the same day
04/03/015 USCIS received RFE response

04/20/2015 I-130 Approved!!!!

04/30/2015 Case sent to NVC

Hi Ms Ellie :)

There are a few of us still waiting. I'm at the Vermont Service Center though.

You can certainly start gathering the necessary documents you will need for the NVC stage. Here is a link explaining what it is, and the "Helpful Links" section at the bottom is a great resource. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/National_Visa_Center

I've found Saylin's NVC Process wiki, LingChe's NVC Shortcuts (updated 2014), and James' Shortcuts (updated 2014) to all be filled with great information.

Welcome to the thread!

Thank you for the reply 1voice1life.

I was beginning to think that nobody cared :(((

Hey, sorry you felt like no one cared. I think it's just that no one has an answer. I'm at the Vermont Service Center. You can always check up to date process times through Visa Journey and also NVC's website. 5 months is the average and probably about how long it'll take.

We're in the same boat and I think all very welcomed here :)

Thank you for the reply. Yeah, the processing times are average 5 months but wanted to know if anyone got lucky and got the approval in less than 5 months.

Hi folks, I hope things are progressing well for everyone.

My wife called NVC today and we were given our case and invoice numbers. They were assigned on Monday (11/10), so just over 30 days from our I-130 being approved (10/06). Something should be coming in the post in the next few days.

Really hoping for good news for everyone else soon too!
